Removing Vinal Sticker.

  1. I wont to remove the white covering on the 848, just the nose cone section in the pic, I guess it needs heating up and teasing off but is there any chance it could peel off the paint and leave me in a world of pain ? Any tips or words of warning ( wisdom) welcome.

  2. Mak, if you or your partner have a hair drier (with a diffuser if at all possible) use that just ahead of where you are pulling/peeling and be slow and methodical and it will come off without damaging the paint. Be wary of the thinner sections like between the lights as they will go with less resistance ahead of the warmed section and those are where you are likely to have issues. I have removed uite a few stickers and a number board this way, the only issues I had was the thinner bit between the lights where a small bit of the gelcoat came off - my fault entirely as I was in a hurry and had not warmed it enough. When you start it choose an edge and warm it do not use any tools to lift it, just finger nails and care, then warm and peel slowly and progressively. There are a few vids on you tube about replacing warn tank protective stickers if you want to see how easy it can be. As soon as it is off then wax the area to remove glue residue and shine up the paint work

  3. As Denzil says, warmth and patience.

  4. Also, don't pull the vinyl away from the paint; once you have established a peel, pull parallel to the paint.

  5. Also works with women...
