Hey guys, need a bit of advice... I was idling my bike on its paddock stand just to keep the battery topped up and decided (stupidly it would seem) to run it through a few gears for fun. Now it went fine until the engine management light came on and the TCS and ABS level numbers are just coming up as -- instead. Wondering if I've seriously messed something up or if it'll realise there's not really anything wrong with it and it was just a result of the front wheel being stationary the next time it ride it? I haven't ridden it because the weather is pretty shit, hence why I felt I needed to idle it... I turned it off and back on again but the error stayed, wondering if it'll need reset by the dealer when I go for my service in May. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If you ever decide to sell the bike don't tell the buyer that you start it up and let it idle to charge the battery, it must be one of the most destructive things that one could do to a bike engine.
I was waiting for a reply like that. Haha. I'm quite sure that idling it for 10 mins a few times through the winter won't have caused any serious damage to anything, not as if I do it all the time or anything. I'm pretty sure u will be fine! By the time it's done 5mph it will have recalibrated... Take it easy for the first few miles Rossi ;-)

ABS light wont go out until the front wheel is turned a few times on the road. My Multi is the same. I would suspect the TC just needs to recalibrate as you have confused it by running only the rear wheel. TC works by comparing front and rear wheel speeds together.

If this fault was caused by running the bike on stand in gear, then a dyno run will cause same problem?
