World Ducati Week Question

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by AmalfiCoast_1198s, Apr 9, 2016.

  1. Hello Everyone,

I was wondering on what the parking is like for the WDW. There is no mention of it on the Ducati website, does the ticket let me ride into the circuit and just park up? Or do I have to leave the bike outside and go into the event? Last year I did La Tribuna Ducati at Imola SBK, Mugello MotoGP and Misano MotoGP, it was great, very worth the money. I had a private Ducati only very secure carpark where they looked after my bike. I am going to WDW on my own so I do not really want to leave the bike anywhere it could be damaged or stolen. Obviously!

    Thank you for your help

  2. Ticket allows you and the bike into the circuit. They have very good security to match bike and rider so that no-one else can exit on your pride and joy.

  3. As above , ticket allows entry to circuit with your bike , there is also a large car park outside where the tents are to purchase day tickets if anyone is traveling by car.

  5. Beware that there are two types of tickets - "bike" and "guest".

If you buy the "bike" ticket you will get two wrist-bands: one is marked with a picture of a Bike and one with picture of a Person but they will have matching numbers.

Put the Bike one somewhere on your bike where it cannot be (easily) removed but can be seen, eg round the top yoke. Put the Person one round your wrist.

You will only be allowed into the circuit on your bike IF you have a bike band and a wrist band, and if they match. THEY WILL BE CHECKED!

You will only be allowed OUT of the circuit on your bike IF you have a bike band and a wrist band, and if they match. THEY WILL BE CHECKED! There are also Police at the exit, and they have guns.

Cars and vans (and non-banded bikes) are not allowed into the circuit at all. There is ample parking outside the circuit (it's Misano ffs...!) so you can leave your car/van/*onda outside and walk into the venue without any problems.

If you have a guest band, it's normally a different colour and only allows entry by foot or on the back of a bike.

It's obvious when you know, but in typical Italian style they don't tell you any of this up front...

Don't forget to order your WDW tickets through one of the four official UK Clubs as they're only €40 for the full 3-day ticket instead of the €90 price to the public.

  6. Thank you again! Good security. Last year I went to the Tribuna at Imola WSBK, Mugello MotoGP and Misano MotoGP. For each event they gave me one rectangle sticker for the bike windscreen for the parking and two round stickers, one for the helmet one for the bike. You can't leave the car park if your helmet and bike sticker don't match. I have kept all the stickers on the windscreen (3 rectangles and three circles) and on the helmet (three circles) because it is a nice memento of a great summer touring all the time on my 899. They will always stay because I do not like to ride in the rain its not fun. Now you have told me this I will keep the tags from WDW on the top yoke forever as well.

  7. You went to three MotoGP/WSB races last year and now you are going to WDW? Lucky bastid! :)

  8. I'll be over there with a load of others so come and say hello if you want!
Drop me a PM and I'll give you my contact details.

  9. Its actually worse than that.... I had saved money, I work for myself and I have no wife or kids so I can do what I want. The monday after imola sbk last year I went to the Ducati Riding Experience at Misano and did two days of instruction there, it was unbelievably good. Imola and Misano are only about 60km away from each other . My instructor the first day was Manuel Poggiali! Then from Misano I rode to the south of France where I went to Monaco to watch the F1 the following sunday, one of my dreams. Then I rode around a bit in France, back into Italy for the Mugello Motogp the following sunday after Monaco. I was on the bike pretty much all of May. Then I went home. But then I went to Misano for the MotoGP in September because I had really got into superbike touring, it was an amazing experience, unforgettable for so many reasons.
I am going up to Mugello at the end of May again this year, then WDW, then Misano MotoGP in september! I understand I'm lucky, but if I wasn't self employed and single, there is no way I could get away with it.
