Rideouts Or Meets In North Lincolnshire?

  1. This weeks will be the last I will be able to make this time off but will be back home for My father in laws bike night at the Jenny Wren in susworth (4th May) providing the weather and traffic allows me yo get home in time...

  2. Sunday forecast also looks to be improving as the week goes on so may also be tempted to have a run out then too.

  3. Steve is on here - Thanks Rebel.

I was at Royal Oak Snitterby tonight, had a good ride out on the SS, plenty of bike-related conversation with a passer-by walking his dog, but no sign of anyone else.
The roads were very wet after the persistent rain that we had all day so I wasn't expecting a huge turnout.
Next one is Tues 10th May.

Also thinking about getting another monthly meet, maybe 4th Tuesday of the month, on the south side of Lincoln, just need to have a ride out and chat with the Landlord of the pub. Will put details up on here when confirmed.

  4. I've ridden past a few times and the most I saw was three bikes. The 'Oak isn't a favourite pub (landlord has a weird attitude) so something else locally would be great. Any decent pubs near Italia?

  5. Not met the Landlord at the 'Oak, so can't comment on his "attitude", bar staff and locals all seem friendly enough.
3 to 5 bikes has been about normal for the light nights over the last year or two, I did have apologies from 3 regulars on Tuesday due to work commitments and the best turnout last year was 8 in August.
Some years ago at the Salutation we regularly had 6 to 10 for most of the year and up to 30 on a sunny summer evening, but Pubs and meetings only seem to be popular for a short time then things slow down again. Many people prefer variety and frequent change to regular stuff which is often perceived as boring "same old".
Not sure about pubs near Italia, but as I don't live in Lincoln or enjoy riding in town I've not had a look round there.
If you want to have a meeting in Lincoln there are usually quite a few having a coffee & chat at Italia on a Saturday afternoon, I'm sure Phil will be happy to see a few more prospective customers if you want to do a bit of work to publicise it as a meeting spot.
It can be a thankless task trying to organise things, especially when the weather can wipe out your once a month meeting several times over the summer, but its a good excuse to get out and ride after being at work.
Hope to see you around over the summer.

    Steve

  6. Back at work now for a couple of weeks but I am due back on the evening of Wednesday 4th May all being well. This happens to coincide with the Bike night at the Jenny Wren Inn in Susworth :)

So long as I'm back on time I am intending on a ride over there as it's not far from us.

Just thought it's worth a mention in case anyone else fancies a ride there and meeting up?

  7. It's a sunny night tonight so likely to have a pootle off to Willingham and then over to Hemswell... or Scarle.

  8. Would love to have joined you and would have done so if I hadn't just arrived back at work :/ Hope it stays nice and you enjoy! Keep it shiny side up too unlike some of the unfortunate one's we passed on Sunday!

  9. Aye, decided to take the Scrambler and keep the red mist slightly at bay ;)

  10. ahh finally caught up on here would love to catch up with a few guys on here
but as anybody knows on here my ride is in bits again lol
didn't realise how many local lads were on here

and anyway whats ET on with north lincs =Grimsby
    its Great Grimsby lol

  11. Lol... Grimsby definitely not north lincs ;)

Same opinion here though with regards to how many people reasonably local to each other!

Get your bike bits put back together soonest and we'll try and organise something @johnboy :upyeah:

It would be good to keep this thread going throughout the bike season and even better if we could get enough people to buy in for a regular meet and ride out.

  14. Planning on a flying visit to the Jenny Wren tomorrow, then on to a prior engagement.
Hope to see some of you there.

Tonight I finally managed a ride without getting frostbite and received a warm welcome to my suggestion of a regular Ducati Meeting from the Manager at the Royal Oak at Aubourn.

    4th Tuesday of the Month 7-9pm at The Royal Oak, Aubourn Lincoln LN5 9DT. 01522 788 291.
Excellent food and Real Ales. If you are planning to eat, I'm sure a phone call in the afternoon would be appreciated.

    First Meet 24th May.

Looking forward to seeing some warmer weather and lots of Ducatis.
