1199 Rear Paddock Stands Again - Bent Constands

  1. Hi

I have tried the Constand but when trying to release the rear nut using a breaker bar - the actual stand has bent - so now the bike is leaning over and looks like its going to slip of the spiggot...

I have had to use a abba stand with pins that go into my rearsets until i can get a decent stand from somewhere.

This is what i use on my MV Agusta and its built like a battleship..

Has anybody have any ideas what to use thats not going to bend... when removing the rear wheel nut

  2. Wow, some torque required to remove the nut then? I am very surprise (as you are I bet) that a stand has bent. I only use a rattle gun to undo and do up rear wheel nuts so I have not idea. Maybe using the same technique as a car wheel, ie back the nut off before you lift it on stand/jack

  3. Its 230NM to undo - same as the MV - but not as easily to remove - unstick
I have a rattle gun i could use i suppose and then use torque wrnech to check - or try backing it of on the side stand... could be dodgy though
