  4. Poor monkey, hes obviously scared of the noise of a fine Italian V-twin

  5. That would be me. Seemed too good to pass up as the 91 white frame & wheels was exactly what I wanted.

  7. spot on
so whats the reality of the bike
    as good as you wanted

  8. I missed it when it first came up on ebay so only noticed it when pointed out on here. I took this advice
and did indeed contact the seller and did a deal unseen and only on his word but he did seem genuine and into Ducati's

For it's age the bike is immaculate and much better than I was expecting, nothing to do really. As it's a recent reluctant sale lots were done last year including belts, battery, clutch plates, clutch slave cylinder seals, fork seals, chain & sprockets, brake pads and brake fluid and carbs cleaned out.
Brakes are slightly spongy but I'm sure can be sorted by angling master cylinder down before bleeding. Nothing else to do really. I may check the belt tension for peace of mind.

Airbox has had top chopped off & K&N fitted prior to previous owner buying it. Not sure whether it's had a Dynojet kit and not sure how I'd be able to tell that. Undecided whether to look for airbox top for originality.

I suppose I also need to look for a different headlight as this one is a euro one. It is supposed to be the original headlight from when the bike was bought from Moto Cinelli so maybe they just imported direct from Italy without mods or maybe it just got passed QC.

My original 900ss from 91 was imported by sports motorcycles but I believe there were actually 3 official importers at the time and moto cinelli were one of them. Not even sure my original 900ss had the correct headlight as I never rode it in the dark.

  15. Not sure how much I'll get out on it on the roads but just wanted it for the future when I get sick of fast bikes and trackdays. Gives me time to go over it properly and do stuff without any rush.

  16. That's a great looking bike

  17. Looking good! the fairings are 'Desmo, DUCATI' my 1991 is 'DUCATI, Desmo'. the picture in Faloon is like your bike, but i think they must have changed some time during the year.

  18. i got mine to finally replace one that was stolen from me years back and as they are getting older and harder to come by i probably wont be able to afford one in 10 years!! but as much as i want to wrap it in bubble wrap and keep it tidy an low milage i cant help riding it! after 9 years of 748's id forgotten how addictive the carby ss is!!!
