899 Has Anyone Used Gb Racing With Stock Fairings?

  1. Has anyone used these engine protectors with standard fairings on 899? I've seen a few pictures and it looks like there isn't enough room tbh.

  2. Not sure it helps but I've got the full set on my 1098R and there were no problems. Andy

  3. Cheers, it's just that the fairing runs around the clutch case within about 1cm and is a really tight fit

  4. How about asking GB Racing?

  5. Got them on mine and fit a treat.

I can take a couple of photo's if you want.

  6. That would be awesome, much appreciated

  7. Photo's don't want to go on here - too big?? I'll sort something.

  8. Had them on my 899 Phill,Just be aware the clutch side rubbed the superquadro lettering causing corrosion to start.

  11. Ah okay, I won't bother then, I know these stop more serious damage but if fitting them rubs the standard cover I won't bother. I can't afford track fairings at the mo so just going to have to be really careful

  12. Thanks though for the pics

  15. I may be biased as I have to run the oppositions kit but after a little off at Luffield the other week I can genuinely say that R&G kit works. Each individual crash will be different but my third gear low side with the bike making it to the gravel only ended in minimal cosmetic damage. I rode the bike back to the paddock and if I had been allowed to continue in qualifying I would have been able to. The axle protectors are worth every penny, a fellow competitor ground his front axle nut completely away as he didn't have any fitted.

I can post a few pics of the damage sustained if required. Just to balance things up, I have also crashed with the GB racing kit on but on my RC8. They also work well but don't seem to fit as snugly as the R&G kit so may cause wear on cases. That's not an issue on a race bike but totally understand on a road bike.
