As some of you know I recently bought a used 1199 shock and had it converted to manual adjusters. Straight away I could feel the difference... I had much more feedback from the rear wheel. The stock Sachs unit basically locks out on high speed bumps and is pretty vague feeling. I looked into the MCT modification for the Sachs shock on the shim stack and have heard great things about it but I couldn't resist the Swedish gold. Well today I visited ERS racing at knockhill. Eddie set the bike up for me and my weight and it has completely transformed the bike. On less than perfect roads I can now keep the throttle pinned and the suspension/bike does all the work. Eddie is a top guy!! Explains everything and happy to answer any questions. Can't recommend him enough! I also fitted a blip box from sportbike developments last week and I works perfectly. The bike is now in my opinion perfect for me. P.s.... Ducati Be Wiser BSB team were at knockhill and Shakey and Glenn were tearing up the track
What were your settings? I have an 1199r ohlins Shock on my 1299, would be interested to compare settings. Mine was also professionally set up. Mine are: (all numbers are clicks out from fully in) Comp 14 Reb 8 Rider sag 20mm Ride height standard Spring 85 (stock) set in position F
I've heard a lot of good stuff about ERS. My mate had his XJR1300 set up there and said the same as you; transformed the bike. Did you need to book or did you just turn up and he fit you in? I'm gonna take my S1000rr in to him.
Not sure as I didn't get anything written down. Reminds me to check tomorrow and note everything down. My own fault for not taking the paperwork with me. I run the standard 899 linkage which is the equivalent to P setting.
James is a top guy. I saw him last week and he said he had done 4 conversions in the last few weeks since I recommended him. I should be on commission! Glad your happy with it James
