I have had mine for 4 weeks and 1200 miles. It is brilliant fun, I have to fasten my helmet chin strap tight because I grin so wide the top of my head is likely to fall off. Red with Termis.
Hi all , has anyone put a alarm upgrade on 1200R As I am told there is not one available yet The dealer has said the 1200/1200s is not compatability and the data tool also the same problem Regards
Cost evey year puts me off having tracker Trackers are compatible as they only need a live feed and earth The alarm uses the bike wiring harness
In my view and alarm isn't going to stop someone taking your bike necessarily (depends on the situation though) I've gone for a ground anchor, 19mm chain and a pin that goes through the axle with a heavy duty lock. This is for when at home in the garage. The tracker is to get it back IF it gets taken whilst I'm out and it can reduce your insurance premiums depending on the agent.
Ducati insurance discounts alarms but not the tracker Cost per year for tracker service £75/£100 PER YEAR on top of insurance But get what you say Regards
Erm...they do discount for the tracker. I had to pay extra when the tracker couldn't be fitted for me to pick it up, so it must make some difference. I know it won't make up the whole yearly cost though. (had to pay extra £70 including admin fee when it wasn't fitted)
Ok must re check with them They just said without alarm they would double the excess from £250 to £500 My be I got it wrong? Regads
I did my first quote online and it allows you to specify up to 3 security options. Definitely worth checking again just to be sure
Hi Ampj, wow thats a bit of a co-incicdence i also have an S1000R that i love in differant ways to the Monster but love 'em both. With the speed limits being lowered by local councils all the time round my way and more cameras etc i prefer to get my thrills naked haha ...
I tried to wait for an evotech one but still no sign of them so I have gone for an R&G, not arrived yet though. I am keen to hear how the fitting goes on yours.
.....still waiting for mine to be delivered, so can't comment on fitting yet. Looks good in the photo's on the R&G website, so hoping it will look the nuts on the bike in real life too...
Visited my dealer yesterday to find out more re delivery time and was told that it had arrived that very day and just been unboxed. Taken to see the bike and looked amazing- it would though I suppose. Two weeks before I can take delivery as needed a space in the workshop and also advised not to have termis fitted initially but at the 600 mile service. Happy to go along with this but not sure of rationale. Anyway a very good day.
