So due to a possible change I may be putting both my supersport's up for sale. Just wondered if there would be any intest on here, both need MOT, the 750 needs a pair of tyres for mot and would need a full service, and the 400 is ready for mot but needs a fuel pump. Both bikes will be running. Be looking for £1000 for the 750 and £800 for the 400. Will know more in a week or so.
Too cheap, Paul....IMO.............despite what's required.... I would have either at those prices if I had the space.......
You all think too cheap, really? Ok so honest opinions on a 49,000 mile 750 ss and a 18,000 mile SS junior. The reason for selling is I need a reliable commuter as my moped is starting to give up the ghost, I only do a few hundred miles a year on the 750 and I really like the looks of the scrambler sixty2. Will MOT'ing them add much to the value, if so will get them done.
I guess it depends on what needs doing and the cost to get them through MOT........... But both your bikes are not that common...... ......early 750SS and a 400 junior; how many of those do we see around?...... .....so in my opinion (for what it's worth) the mileage makes little difference. My 750 is a '97 and is up for sale at roughly £1500 (the spares take it over £2K).....so I would have thought your 750 should be at least £1200 and the 400 at £1000 or more even. I would be interested to see what Chris thinks.......
Well as far as I can see, the 400 is ready for MOT and the 750 needs tyres(advisory from last year). I don't think I have time on my side as the big end bearings are noisy on my moped and I really can't be bothered to rebuild the engine, but if I have too I have too.
Do you want to borrow front and back wheels with tyres and discs for MOT, Paul? Come and collect them and bring them back when you have got it sorted.....
thanks for the offer Al but I think I'm going to get the 750 MOT'ed as soon as I can with the 400 wheels on it as the 400 packed up yesterday and is now refusing to start. Got a felling its carbs as the mixture screws are sized in so getting another set of body's ready. Chizel I think there is a picture in the picture section, if not there is a ss junior thread with a picture in I think
Update, there both staying with me. I decided to change my scooter that's my commute hack and keep both the SS's. In fact the 750 Is now taxed and tested and the 400 will soon be striped down again and carbs sorted, if I can may even get MOT'ed this year, if not early next. Thanks for all the interest.
