Keeping It In The Family

  1. Hi all, the name's Jim and I live in Plymouth - having finally relented and handed over my "spare" 916 to my son, he encouraged me to visit this forum - so here I am!
I have a 1978 900SS Bevel which I have owned since the early 80s along with a 1998 916 Biposto, a 2001 748 Biposto, and a couple of belt drive 750SS (one of which is the all year, all weather hack).
Country roads are the place to be - motorcyclists do it for fun.

The "boy" is a cheeky so and so, reckons the 900SS is a family heirloom and should be passed on, You give them an inch and they want the whole stable!

  2. You gave your son a 916.Are you mad?Do you want to adopt me?.....Hi ,by the way.

  8. Hi Keith, madness is all relative, it's a type of madness to love these machines.
You have got to bring your kids up right - and as I see it the right way is astride an Italian an thoroughbred. The final lesson is getting him to do his own valve shimming.
