I've tried the different settings, Race, Sport and Rain. All seem to work well. Has anyone got some suggestions for a custom setting for a brisk Sunday run in the dry (when summer eventually appears).
Stuck my engine setting in high, kept all other settings in sport, it gives the throttle a better response and smoother too
I use the engine in 'high' mode for both race mode and sport (if that makes any sense!) with to etc just turned up in sport!
+1 for the above : sport mode with Engine in High. If you want a laugh for a few mins - put it in rain mode with the engine in Race - when you ride the lights are flashing all the time!!!
I will have a play around with he setting after its first service Does the TC realistically need to be set any lower than 5 on the road? Think I will just leave it Also ABS in sport feel fine so will try it in 1 but prob stay where it is I also want to experiment with reduced engine braking as sport feels quite high I find, though this is my first v twin
S sorry should have expanded, in the standard factory settings wet, sport & race engine power is limited to 100bhp in wet and full 148 in sport and race. Throttle response can be customised in all modes and I think, if you really wanted to, you could increase output in wet?! Hope that helps
Will try your suggestions, adjusting the Engine mode to High in Sport mode. I like the throttle response better in the high mode but like the added safety settings in Sport. I've never had the traction control light coming on in the dry when in Sport mode for road riding. Tried the Wet setting when the roads were soaking wet. Quite liked it, seemed to reel me in enough and still allow good progress. Still keeping it smooth in the Wet is the key. You can't defy the laws of physics... Tried the race settings on a Knockhill track day. For my pace they seemed fine but found the rear to be spinning up acceleration hard out of one of the turns. One of the faster guys with in 899 suggested setting traction to 4 and see how the goes. Stopped the spinning up and didn't chime in much on the other turns. Was also recommended to turn off abs. And lower ebc to 1. This was for hard braking into the hairpin. I didn't think I was going fast enough to feel the change, but when I went back on track, it did make a difference allowing more confidence when braking really hard. ( when you turn off the abs an annoying light flashes on the dash to remind you that the abs is off). All this didn't make me any quicker but it was fun trying things out. All good fun. Thanks for your other suggestions.
