Hi guys. Gonna do a run in service on my 848 Evo soon. I know oil will be a divisive subject. I was thinking of just going for the recommended Shell Advance Ultra 4T 10W40 (fully synthetic). Any reason not to? Also - I run a motor factor and have accounts with some of the good filter manufacturers. After a bit of digging would I be right in saying that the Mahle equivalent number for the oil filter is OC5 and the Mann equivalent is W712/9? Thanks in advance!
Did another bit of digging and found that the equivalent Mann filter for the 848/1098 is actually MW713. W712/9 is pretty much the same filter in terms of dimensions, thread size/pitch and seal diameter but the bypass valve opening pressure is 1.5 bar. The MW713 opens at 0.9 bar which is the same as the OE 44440035A filter.
I run the motul 7100 in my wet clutch bikes. I found it made a different in clutch sound and smoother shifting, especially when its cold.
