999 Chinese Fairings

  1. i know there have been a couple of threads on these already so this will be brief, I plan to take mine on track next year and as I don't want ruin the original panels I bought a Chinese set off fleabay. Overall quality about 95% you also get a screen and all bolts and clips etc etc. £370 all in which I think is a bargain.

  2. Very tidy...:Artist:
I've just ordered a seat unit for my build. It's a shame they dont do the 998 flat sided fairings with belly pan.

  3. That look very good value

  4. I fitted a TB #21 replica set to a 996 last year, I was really impressed with the quality and fit. I think I only had one hole that needed a minor file to fit properly, other than that it bolted straight on.

  5. How's the colour match? I bought some for my 1098 a few years ago and to be honest I was impressed with the quality of the paint job, the fitment was ok but a bit misaligned on the tail unit but my biggest grumble was the red colour match, it was more orangey and contrasted badly where the red panels met the red tank. I suppose for the £275 I paid I shouldn't complain. I did however find the receipt from the manufacturer to the Chinese seller left in the bottom of the box and he only paid $90 for them!.

  7. Just finished putting some on my 749s. I am really pleased with them. The colour and quality are great and the fit is fine. Have had to learn some lessons on tightening one thing up before fitting another but they are pretty good for the £360 including tax I paid. My 749 will never be a collectors item so I don't see a problem. Will post some pictures when I get chance.

  8. The colour match is OK to be fair, if you didn't know they were replacement fairings I doubt you'd notice.
But they are for track only so I wasn't overly fussed anyway.
But I still think £370 is very good value !!

  9. I crashed my right side fairing and now i have to find a replacement. All of you who are satisfied from the Chinese fairings can you give me some link to the manufacturer or the site from where you bought them.

  10. fitted a cheap set of injection molded fairings to my NC30 two years ago,, needed a little fettling but pleased with them for the money.

  11. I have found lots and lots of offers for chinese fairings on ebay but a friend bought a set for his yamaha from a seller on ebay and the quality was very very poor. So suggestions for exact seller from people who bought fairings and are pleased with the quality are needed.

  12. Would also be interested in precise recommendations as since getting my 1198, 'Mrs M' has taken a liking to coming out with me occasionally and here Sidi's are marking the side of the seat unit :/ Mine is already on aftermarket fairings so not too bothered about it tbh...

I have the originals protected and stored in boxes from when the previous owner removed them (bike only did 800 miles with them on). Have also talked 'Mrs M' round to doing her test :) So when she's passed and up and running on her own bike, I will also be looking to buy some new aftermarket fairings to tidy mine up again.
