Where Do I Stand.

  1. I bloody hate seeing 'caveat emptor' quoted! Just because it's Latin and ever so slightly smart to quote it, does not make it right! Or the buyer a dumb arse for buying the item.
It's the sellers responsibility to sell and item that is fit for purpose, working, safe and complaint. If not sort, it out at their expense or refund.
Some of the cheeky fuckers even want an 'admin charge' if the sold item turns out to be a piece of crap!

  2. I wasn't trying to be a smart-arse, and I wasn't calling the buyer a dumb arse either...yes its the sellers responsibility to sell a fit for purpose item, but its also the buyers responsibility to make sure he knows what he's buying isn't it?...I wasn't trying to be a clever twat and I did say I hope he gets things sorted, we all make mistakes and hopefully he will learn from his.

  3. ^ Sorry mate, Wasn't directly aimed at you. Just a general grumpy ole twat moan!
I had a miserable time a few years ago over a brand new Porsche of all things, which has made me a bit sensitive when I hear this sort of stuff.:Bag:

  5. Yes it was - the rest is called banter???

  6. @finm, i have to ask, what is off fanny? Is it fanny that has gone off?

I can see why it would be the wrong type.

  7. Of course, I bet the OP was pissing himself laughing.

  9. These are things you couldn't see without a thorough check over. It's not like I'm going to strip the bike before I buy it.

Also newest problem check out how much metal is in the oil.

  10. "Caveat Emptor" - without doubt the favourite phrase of the pub "legal guru" - who actually knows fuck all about fuck all!

  11. It don't look good chap - last time I saw that much metal in a sump pan was when a mate of mine detonated a drag bike at Santa Pod

  12.
  13. I'm having the exsact same problem.
About the same amount of swaf in the mesh filter. (was told via ducati dealer that it is common to get swaf on sump plug but shouldn't get that amount on mesh filter).

The dealer I bought the bike from (less than 3 months ago) said they will collect bike and make repair, (fair enough) but how well will this repair be, quick bodge to get me running and out of warranty, or a decent job (can't see this happening due to the cost and the lack of profit that they shall lose)

Keep us updated pal as I'm also debating asking for a refund, exchange etc.

Should of bought a ktm :tearsofjoy:

  14. I feel for you Ben, hope you can get some token/part compensation. The gap between purchase and you contacting dealer might determine outcome I fear and will depend on how decent the owner of the operation is. 749ducati knows the ropes more clearly but I seem to remember that if you find/found an issue on the bike that is deemed dangerous/was dangerous at time of sale then that would change everything.

  16. Is "swaf" Boris Johnson's word for what the rest of us call swarf?

  17. Problems you get children when you don't listen at school.

    You become an illiterate idiot.

  18. Yeah that's the problem :/.

However I think I have enough things legally to absolutely fuck them if they don't cooperate. If this doesn't get resolved I'm going on a legal warpath.

Also the dealer " who will not be unnamed as they actually somehow found out I posted on here before and called me
    Out on it" reply was.

" just change the oil for a few weeks and see if there's any more metal in it, don't trust the Ducati garage they will just be out to get your money"

I can't even make this up.

  19. You can expect a little swarf on the magnetic pick up, that is true. However the amount shown in your pic is excessive, that combined with the noise would have me reaching for the Prozac.

  20. I'm sure no reputable place would tell you to keep on running the bike as it is.That needs seeing to ASAP.
