Do you have a particular ritual you follow when you get ready/go for a ride? For some reason I always put my left boot on before my right. Same with gloves. Left always goes on before the right. I have no idea why. :tongue:
We usually the night before at 1159hrs we sacrifice a dwarf and rub our leathers in its blood , then have violent angry pre ride sex ..... Then a Horlicks ( not whore licks , that's just wrong)
I did a lot of scuba diving in my younger days, building-up over the years to deep mixed-gas rebreather diving. You soon learn an efficient routine to kitting-up on a rolling boat mid-channel and I have carried some of it over to biking. For example, as I am right handed I always put my right glove on first (diving, biking or just snow-balling) - not really a ritual - it just makes it easier to get the other glove on properly!
I won't bother coming round the night before a ride out I don't think. I could end up as the sacrifice :wink:
Yes I do I wear the same top under my leathers washed of course. Right boot first then left. Right glove left glove Always get on and off on the left side. Always patted my bike before we started
Left boot first,left glove first then always heel the kick stand in to make sure its up...don't know why, probably due my old 916, always panicked when putting the stand down til I did the bolt mod
I always give my wife a hug and promise I will not do anything stupid. Plus, wear appropriate underwear (based on colour, not style), and have a quick look round the bike and give a final polish just in case I am stopped by the Michelin Star section of the Po**ce force! I also have an uncanny knack for forgetting something, and always something different from the previous ride!
I faff... Have to have half a cup of tea. Get everything on .. Then remove everything as I need to pee. I have something in my pocket a charm thing I was given to keep me safe I check its there. Start bike .. Give my necklace a rub. Get bike out . Get out door .. Go back in as may have left my GHDs on check them. I have to put my bike on a certain spot get on warm up pat bike and go
Phone, wallet, and house keys each have their own pocket in my jacket and then I have to check at least 3 times that all zips and fasteners are closed while the bike ticks over warming up.
I keep patting my pockets to make sure I've got everything, wallet keys, phone, fags, then wriggle around in my leathers to get them comfy. Looks like I'm doing the macarena...
