1198 Fg811 Ohlins Fork Oil Level

  1. I've searched around and come up blank
Has anyone serviced their Ohlins forks on a 1198? The FG811.
I just want to know the oil amount. The service manuals I've found all reference the stock forks and not the Ohlins.

    Thanks

  2. It's given as 155mm oil charge per leg on the 1098s but for the Showa's, it's shown as 439cc per leg
That is for the 1098S FG315's

  3. The 1098 is a different fork from the 1198 though. I think its a 511?

  4. On the 511 it's 400ml

  5. Yeah saw that before..Would be perfect if it was for a 811. ARGH

  6. AFAIK they're intrinsically the same forks but the bottoms are different as they accommodate the DTC sensor

  7. Since I hate threads that never have the answer, I thought I'd post up. Here's the FG811 Ohlins data sheet.
Oil is measured with springs out, preload spacer still in.

  8. The 155mm specification applies to both the 1098s and 1198s forks then.

  9. Yep. From what I understand they're the same shocks except the fg811 has compression dampening at the bottom of the fork.
