I've gone for the Metzeler 01s. Only had them on a day so still a bit early to feedback, but so far I love 'em already. They're doing £30 money back at the minute, so if you have them make sure the shop puts in your address and emails the invoice - you'll need it for claiming back online. Enjoy the weather guys. This week is our summer so don't waste it.
You don't want the heavy weight tyres for the Multi. That's more for your BMW 1600s and the like. I paid £290 for the set, fitted to the bike and with a curved valve on the rear - not including the £30 money back. Got mine from wheelhouse tyres in Coleshill.
Hi guys. Replaced my OE scorps on the MTS DVT at 3663 mls. Rear was flattening off. Front had a bit of meat. But don't like mixing tyres. So on went a set of Mich Pilot Road 4's (after much discussion on this here thread....thanks for all yer advice folks!). Rode to my local bike shop (Dave millings in Whitehaven) in a snow flurry... it was slushy on the road...last Thursday in April. Dave fitted them. He has all the right kit and a torque wrench that goes up to the heady 250+ Nm of the rear sprocket! Then as the roads were drying I get my bike back and it hailstones ! Doh. So a 6 mile journey yam (home). On new tyres! With echos of Daves parting words (take it easy new rubber cold roads etc etc ringing in ma heed). I headed off gingerly. But the PR4S felt ok.....and within two miles and melting hailstones....they felt good.....ok so I wasn't riding quick. Managed 45 mph probably. Now 300 miles later really good tyres. First impressions rear looks more round than the oe rear scorpion, also the 190/55-17 looks like a 180??.which means despite some decent lean angles on a wide range of roads and bends, there's still some chicken strips on the rear!! However really confident feel to them. Good feedback. Headed up to hartside yesterday after a 50 mile ride to Penrith in 19°C ....Hartside was 10°C so despite temperature change they were great. In other news the rear sprocket & wheel nuts have lost their shine...as has the chain. I ride all year so presuming despite regular lubing and cleaning the Ducs aren't built fer British winters. Also a few false neutrals in the gear Box. Chain tension ok. My first duke. It's no Suzi gearbox is it? And the clutch is 'graunchy'. Any thoughts on these issues? Ta muchly
