Its one of those crap injurys that you forget about until you jump up again... oh well! Good job its not my clutch or gear foot
This is in some way encouraging. People always seem to be able to hurt themselves more significantly doing anodyne things in their house or garden than I have ever done to myself riding a bike. This only encourages me to ride bikes. Dangerous? Not as dangerous as a rabbit hole in the garden or a loose stair rod.
Today went to Snetterton for a trackday, which will be my last this year. Weather was a bit iffy, but managed to get quite a few good laps in. Snetts is a good circuit.
Downhill mountainbiking, 2008 Yeah, THAT one hurt!! Had a fat wobbly blood-filled leg for a LONG time.... hurt like a muvverfuvver. :frown:
I learnt the minor pentatonic on the A string. This is bound to be the most useful thing I learn this week and it's only Monday. May as well hibernate until the weekend now. There is something massively satisfying about learning something new and incredibly useful which you know is going to improve the rest of your life. It doesn't happen very often.
On behalf of Nicky could I thank you all for your kind words and thoughts. She is home now and obviously in quite a bit of discomfort. I've no doubt there will be plenty of posts over the next few weeks keeping you updated on her progress, but your kindness is much appreciated by us both. Chris and Nicky
Crap day at work after a lovely week in the Lakes, came home and had my tea. Watched Corrie, watched last weeks "Hunted", watched Buzzcocks and frigged about on here in between times
Danced in the carpark at work with a brolly whilst singing "singing in the rain". Now I know why I never made it to stage school!!!
Paid deposit for my new car. Pick up Friday. You dont get that warm feeling like you do when you order a bike.
Been to the dentists - first visit of three for root canal treatment having managed to crack a tooth (no idea how). Ouch!
I've done a tax return (only about 5 months late, but they don't really want everyone's at the same time). Also done an analysis of my electricity consumption and cost for the last 8 years. Verdict: in that time I have reduced leccy consumption by 15% (a couple of better radiators) and the real unit price (total cost of bill divided by units used) has only increased 11%. That's something of a bargain in this day and age. Feeling quite chuffed with my work and my parsimony.
I had all that. Managed to crack the same one on each side. I have also destroyed about 2 porcelain crowns (which are supposedly indestructible). I bite too hard, apparently. Beware! Root canal treatment is no fun - but then going to the dentist rarely is. Good luck!
