  1. Yeah - could be an option (closer to where we're staying also!). Mind you the one constant is "yeah - you can go here/there or wherever for a good pint". I don't drink, never have, never had the taste for it plus id rather be on my bike somewhere rather than drunk (I don't mean that nastily) id just rather spend my time there actually riding as much as possible as the time I actually get on my bike during the calender year when I'm not commuting is really small so ive got to take as much advantage of the time that I do have...

  2. I think the racer I know came off at Gorse Lea on his superstock bike, was lucky not to hit anything but still had some quite serious injuries. I am sure he went back the following year and won the privateer championship, the one made up of results on several events, madness... I get nervous thinking about taking a canoe with wings into Gerrards in 6th at 120+mph or Cadwells first corner flat out in top gear, attempting to drive faster than BSB on a circuit is bad enough, you would not get me riding with my head inches from walls... truly amazing.

  3. Yep - depends where he came off - if he was back from the farm (where we are) on the left as you go round looking down stream it reasonably straight but if he came off at the farm and survived then yeah, that's some feat....

  4. Yeh i know what you mean, we used to take a couple of cans of guiness up to the creg, plot up there for the afternoon then head back down for dinner in the evening once practice/races were done and dusted. Castletowns the only place I found a pub that did a decent scran too. The rest is just grease grease and more grease, which although I have no objections to, can get a bit tedious after 10 days +

you can also sit round the lovely peaceful harbour which is so nice after hooning about all day

  5. Heh - yeah one of the lads we met last year took us to this harbour (not sure which one) but we sat there for a couple of hours with tea and cake in the baking hot sun (under a parasol)....absolutely bliss...lovely and quiet. As for food ill quite happily eat total shit for the 4 days were there as I normally have to be good with food (strict diet during the week) wind it back on the weekend and exercise for an hour 6 days a week (and all of that only keeps me looking normal) so its a welcome change hitting the pizza king at the end of the promenade and smashing in a massive kebab.
