Hiya All, Just joined up, im currently modifying my early m900 for track use with a daytime mot for occasional sunny thraps! trying to improve handling and power, whilst minimising everything for cleaner looks, simplicity and lighter weight. Ive fitted a nitron shock which has helped massively but need to do something with the non adjustable showa front end as its massively overdamped/ undersprung and is now holding the handling back. Love to hear from anyone whose made any definate improvements in any of the above areas. Thanks
I've got 916 fork legs in mine bit can't report back on improvement as the bikes in bits this year. Needed top yoke boring to 53mm and bottom yoke shimming also to 53mm. Also required different bearings in the front wheel along with larger diameter spindle. 916 forks longer than M900's so bar risers or clip ons necessary. Fairly straight forward mod tbh. Forks possibly need different springs as Monster lighter than 916 I believe.
Hmm, yeah, id considered that route, im already running clipons, id also noticed some 916 forks run the different caliper bolt spacing too, but the main hurdle i came up against there, was locating some shims for the bottom yoke. thanks.
Thanks Dave, i was in holmfirth (new mill) last night, but i went on the speed triple, still love it over there tho.
Et Voila! Doh! i never thought of that, id seen some trick billet Harris ones years ago, guess i was forgetting we were only talking about a mil!
