1200 DVT Gopro Action Camera, Which One And Where?

  1. Not sure if you are talking about my GoPro mounted on or another but i will assume it's mine. You can get the cases which have a fairly open back for better sound and to plug in the cables but on a bike it's too noisy. So yes, I made a hole that's a tight fit in the side the same shape as the USB plug so if it does rain a bit it can survive.

  2. I can confirm what @Phill748 says about the Olfi it is very, very good.

Welsh company, offshoot of Hedcamz building a camera thats price isn't influenced by shareholders.

    I just bashed this out

  3. I tried my gopro basic helmet mounted the other day, Can't get it level cos I wear a flip up so am looking at a mirror mount / ram extension set up next.

  4. I've used a Drift for a couple of years. Used the helmet mount and handlebar mount. Whilst collecting footage is great it's also important to think about editing it as this makes a huge difference. Ideally I'd really like to use a couple of cameras to get different points of view.

This was from the EMM trip to Andorra last year.

  5. Just be aware, that GoPro are discontinuing the Session cameras. That might mean you'll got a good deal on one, but possibly more importantly that you'll end up missing out on support later on in the products life (firmware updates, etc).

  6. Thanks, that's good to know.

These are all more or less what I'd consider disposable anyway - keep for a couple of years, and perhaps replace with better if it's something I use lots, or just gather dust in a drawer and get forgotten about if I don't. Given that much of whatever media I produce is likely to be "hey look at me" for social media I have to think that ultimately the quality is likely to be more than adequate on even a £50 SJ Cam.

  7. I'm just about to give the helmet chin area a go this weekend in Ireland after watching a few posts on YouTube. Good central view of the bike n out in front, no vibes n can look around for panaramic if you want. Easy to hit the record button. Also more discreet than on t' top of ur bounce or out the side. My mates head nearly got pulled off with it mounted on top - mind you he was travelling a bit!

  9. Now that's not a bad idea !

  10. Where did you get the bottom RAM mount under the mirror?

  11. Well that's done it... My action cam (Hyundai) just suddenly wont turn on this morning. I'll be looking around now but that Olfi looks interesting.

  12. Just bought an Olfi. I've not used it in anger yet, but I've got to say I'm impressed with the build quality. Really neat, and seems easy to use. Looking forward to trying it out.

  17. Just ordered my Olfi, with extra case. Going to have to drill the spare case so that I can have it powered by the bike yet still protected from rain when in use and keep one case for when i need the proper waterproofing.

  18. I've recently bought an Olfi, and it comes with two backs to the waterproof case. One with holes in, one without.

Nice little camera. Not used it in anger yet - my bike has been in getting fixed...!

  19. I've recorded hours with mine. Very impressive camera. For the money. Battery lasts near 2 hours at 2.5k
