Spent all day Saturday building wardrobes with my son in his new flat. Worked till 11.30pm so I could get out on the bike on Sunday. IKEA sliding doors....nooooo! As a result Sunday went to Newlands, not as early as I'd have liked. Met Vince, then The Chalet then Loomies. I have to say we both found it very frustrating. The roads seemed so busy, so small and downright rough and poor quality after being away from this tiny overcrowded island. Loomies had a Suzuki day which didn't do it for me. I just couldn't open the garage door and look at one of them and feel anything. Except blue. They just don't excite me, I could hardly look. The ride back was much better after most of the deaf, dumb, blind and plain stupid had got home from the garden centres. I'm going to have to head a long way north to try and get some space. The south of England is so overcrowded it's just not an enjoyable ride as I spend most of my time trying to anticipate what Mr. or Mrs. Lobotomy might do. It's a constant source of surprise and bemusement. Conversations at stopping points with other motorcyclists confirm that drivers and sanity seem to be heading in opposite directions. Mind you I did see one over enthusiastic biker pop a massive wheelie down a busy Streatham High Road on Saturday. Just writing that makes me feel like I'm coming over all Victor Meldrew but when the Surrey Bikesafe leader tells you he's worried because they've had THREE biker fatalities in their county already this year it makes you think. No wonder the Mrs. asked me if I'd made a Will the other day. 'Strange' I thought at the time, 'she doesn't have a carving knife in her hand'.

Bought a carbon airbox, intakes and some other bits for the bike. I've starting taking the fairing off to fit the forks. Need to get my tools home.
I've been climbing on the crag at Dovestones. Took an hour to walk up to it. 40 mins of climbing. And an hour walking back to the car in almost pitch blackness. Plus It was cold and very windy up there. To say I'm bolloxed would be an understatement! However I've also been to the pub to warm up

Tyre pressures on both bikes done, chain tensions checked and chains lubricated on both bikes, front disc bobbins checked on the Diavel (Multistrada already done), oil level checked and fuel topped up on both bikes, a few essential tools packed and now just got the panniers to pack before the off. Exmoor here we come for a couple of days riding. Andy
On a serious note, it has taken me a while to get the suspension set up almost to where I want it although I have been told off for riding too enthusiastically so it's obviously not far off. Also still coming to terms with no fuel gauge and a small reserve which requires route planning for a decent run out. I will also warn you, the exhaust note above 5000 rpm gets infectious which is probably the cause of the enthusiastic riding. Andy
Mine has had some work on the forks done by MCT. Not sure what. It also has a few other bits on it. Rearsets, carbon this and that etc. Looking forward to riding it.
Forks are relatively easy to set up, it's the bloody rear shock. Way too stiff for me and I will be ditching the progressive rocker. I can assure you with confidence, you will be blown away. Grin factor is most definitely 100 out of 100 and the only bike I have ridden that comes close to my 853 track bike which has taken me 2 yeas to develop. Andy
