Exact issues I had on my last track day mate. Great sound quality on your camera bud! What's your setup?
It's a standard GoPro 3 on a Wenpod gyro mount Vibrates a bit, but that's probably easy to sort with a bit of tightening up
Great footage/arseage Graeme. What are you using for recording your lap times? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Cracking day in inters at Silverstone on the GP circuit. I can feel improvement coming on as last time I was there a couple of weeks back, my best was 2:57, and today was consistently mid 2:40's I'm back there next week, so hoping to get into the 2:30's Not rocket fast, I know, but still good for me and my knackered knees and back On a separate note, they had the Yamaha road show there today, so you could use a bike for a session for free. Naturally, I asked for an R1M, but they only had R1's Bloody hell they're quick and the electronics make them really really easy to ride quickly too. No idea on lap times, but I went faster down Hanger straight than I've ever been on a bike before ! Not my cup of tea though, to be honest and I think I'll stick with 600's for the track for now until I eventually convert my 899
It's a Shoei NXR Bradely bought cheap from the bike show over winter. Very comfortable, and stops my head from falling off
Was in inters at portimao, there was probably >30 secs a lap between the fastest and slowest on what is a 2min lap is a good time
Knocking a good 10 seconds off your lap time is pretty decent, you've got to be pleased with that!? I'm at Silverstone next month on the 21st with Focused Events which will be my first time at the track so I'll see how I get on! You're not booked onto the same day Graeme are you, you seem to be doing every track day going at the moment :tearsofjoy:
I think it all depends on the day as to what group is best. I did Donington in inters a few weeks ago and there was some seriously quick guys, yet I was at Anglesey in Fast at the weekend and felt comfy and picked up a lot following people (11 seconds isn't too shabby from last year on a ZX6R). The issue with Inters is the sheer difference of pace.
With a lot of circuits, it depends if there's a race there coming up I was at Donnington last Thursday, and there was a race at the weekend. In fairness to the organiser (NL) they ran four groups and went straight through lunch (novice, inters, fast 1 and fast 2), but the fast groups booked up quickly, so racers looking to get a track day in started booking into inters, and even Novice I was in inters running circa 1:50 and a guy in my group, who's a mate of mine, can run 1:35 all day long and wasn't the quickest in the group. Personally, I feel much safer in a group with faster guys, rather than the potential of colliding with slower guys that seed themselves upwards incorrectly, and would generally be a bit more unpredictable Silverstone yesterday was an odd one, as they seed you themselves based on some rather unrelated criteria of amount of road miles per year and number of track days. Subsequently, there was some very fast guys in the lower groups, and some really slow guys in the fast group. They made us all fit timing transponders, so i assume they moved people around during the day
