I got some cnc adjustables from a company in france for the 1299. the dealer lent me a original for now will return the original I took off mine to them did not occur to me to try swapping back to the original. dealer said the lever I bought has a slightly different pin gap to the original which confused the ecu. and no there is no need to adjust the mapping now as I can ride it in 2nd gear no probs at 30mph with no rev problem.
yea that's what the dealer has put on.dropping my genuine down to them so we will be quits. in theory if I want to fit the adjustable which caused the problems all I need to do is tinker with the micro switch gap and adjuster rod if I can be bothered.
they didn't but if you think about it if you copy the original gaps of the pattern lever then in theory it will solve the issue. now I know this is whats up will be easier to fix by adjusting the micro switch lever more than the adjuster rod I reckon. its the pin gap to the micro switch more likely the issue as I set the rod up the same length as the pattern.
Good chaps there. Dave knows his stuff (BSB privateer champion and KTM BSB support series multiple champion). They mapped my 848 nemesis ECU and did work on my race bikes. My 959 will be going there at some point as well. Honestly, if Dave can't sort it out, nobody can. Tell him Mr Jolley sent you!...
I replaced the cheap adjustable levers I put on a few months ago with "Evotech" levers last week. What a difference! She still takes a dive (power drops) on occasion on quick pull offs but nowhere as bad as before. Now the weird thing is she was doing this with originals on! I believe low down fueling may still need a look at.
cool, original lever cured mine problems but I did take it in for the first service so they may have adjusted a few things. no problem with low speed and pulling off now . as you say I'm finally getting used to it now its working correctly. will get another set of levers maybe evo not sure yet just happy I can ride it properly without the fear of stalling and a sudden power surge low down. maybe your the throttle needs adjusting. take it in for them to have a look at it, I would as mine is cured.
is your traction light on when it dies? chances are your giving it too much and spinning. this causes the ecu to cut fuelling. A way to test this theory, is alter your traction setting from one extreme to another and observe the results.
I second that. Dave and his son erm Dave Junior (also a talented racer) fitted a Bazzaz system on my old 1098 a few years ago. He threw in a free dyno after fitting and it was like riding a different bike. It was great just hanging around, he'll talk bikes all day and he'll let you into the dyne room whilst he works miracles on your bike. You won't regret it!
