Well, what do you drive? do you like it? are you a car enthusiast as well? your favorite car you've owned? aspirations? For me, I currently drive a 134,000 mile R reg Toyota Celica, its actually far more entertaining than you'd think, and completely reliable. makes winter months bearable without riding the bike. My favorite car was my old Alfa Romeo 166 V6 - amazing car, and even very reliable. I'm definitely a car enthusiast, but its not quite so deeply rooted as bikes in my blood. Next on the 'must own' list is either an AMG engined Merc or a Maserati 3200GT or Quatroporte, but not for a while yet, Bimota first...
I have a company car. It gets me from A to B comfortably, quickly and safely. Cars don't excite me
I own a very battered N reg Astra with 129,000 in blue and I love it. It runs hot in traffic and we bake well but so far it's never let me down. It's my third old Astra my first one had 96,000 and died after 5 years of ownership from head gasket failure. My best car was when I was married and that was 4x4 Sierra A very good friend of mine has a merc SLK AMG whoo that's a nice car One day maybe :-D
An Alfa 156 2.5 V6. I love it, and have been told that I have to keep it a couple of years before I change. A Maser 3200 or Quattroporte certainly do appeal, but I don't fancy the servicing costs of that Ferrari lump... I fancy a change from saloon cars but 2 usable back seats are a must, so maybe a 911 might just be do-able, or a Brera, or maybe an M3 convertible.
Driving around ina Land Rover Discovery these days, luckily as Iwork from home I dont go far. Used to be big into Lancias:smile: Few I had.
What about this? Jag 3.2 straight six, so not too heavy on running costs, and reasonable servicing.. looks MUCH more expensive than it is... Aston Martin DB7 3.2 auto Mendip Blue | eBay
I've had various Mercedes for over 20 years now. Very fond of the S-class, but recently downsized to a C-class estate. Perfect for me, can't go wrong buying a Merc.
My brother bought an R reg E300 turbodiesel estate about six years ago. with over 200,000 miles on the clock he decided to upgrade last year and bought a 2005 S350 (with less than 50,000 miles on the clock). With kids and a caravan, he decided the E class was too useful to part with, so now he has the utility Merc, and the S class for sunday best! He's never had any issues with either Merc, ever - he loves them. I'd not say no to a CL500, another car that looks far more expensive than it is..
Had several M3's over the years. My last one was sold last week. Also had a boxter which I traded in for a GT3 ( jaap stam left man u and it was a steal)which was awesome. Had a CLK55 AMG which I got banned in for speeding
Have never owned a car - have always driven someone else's! (Parents, boss, now husband's). Other half is on his 4th Subaru Impreza (current one is a P1). When we first test drove an Impreza, it was the first car I'd ever driven that gave me something close to a bike grin. A lot of bang for your buck!
I love cars, and have had some really nice ones. Wish I still had my Golf Mk2 GTI 16v, but sold it to buy my first Porsche, a late model 944 turbo, which I eventually got into Concours condition. Then had a 911 Carrera 2, which was great fun, and brilliant on the track - but it had to go to fund my Bike habit! Had an 8 valve GTI for a while, but it never filled the gap of the 16V. Managed to get a Subaru Impreza alongside the 911, just to keep the miles down a bit - what a fantastic car that was! Very thirsty but amazing B road blaster. That too went to fund the Bike habit. Best "fun" drive I've ever owned was a Brabus Roadster. A true Go-cart for the roads  Haven't got anything interesting at the moment, but will have a 911 again one day, if funds permit.
boooo - my old car an Alfa 156 GTA after the front wheel fell off = now I have a beat up 306 cos I cant afford two Italian vehicles
Im not interested in cars the way I used to be, my daily shitter is an W reg 406 HDI I gave next to nothing for it and will just run it till it blows up. I actually gave it its first ever wash whilst in my ownership the other week. 1st rule of bangernomics is NEVER to spend any money on the banger which I have not done and will not do. Infact the tax just ran out so my trade plates are in full time use! This is Mrs C's ride, she opted out of the company car scheme and now we gat paid for using our own car. Happy days
My Missus has a Merc SLK 230. With private plates. And she's not a hairdresser. What are the chances of that?
Must admit when it comes to cars I'm quite fussy!! My last car was a 1.9cdti Astra coupe 150bhp it was a rocket loved the car to bits until some stupid bint wrote it off in January near on killing me in the process :-( I've always gone for sporty looking numbers bit of a snobby chick like that!! Ha ha anyway when the insurance came through the other half talked me into us getting a 5 door reasons being we have the dog the nipper is getting older and we need to forward plan 4/5 years ahead- sensible options! We purchased an insignia but went for the top model 2.0 cdti SRI vx line front and rear Parking sensors, electric handbrake, sat nav in car audio via iPod , USB ports etc Etc full bag of mashings and 160bhp the car is phenomenal and beats a majority of the cars in the category on the market. I totally love it / we totally love it and its worth every penny to us! The handling, torque etc is sublime!
Stunning car, I do get a hard on for old fords. However did you Lad get dressed in the dark that day?
My Ducati is my first love, this old Porker is my second....(although I don't drive her as much as I'd like) I have a Golf as a company car as I do 1200 miles a week!......
