Ok like the title says, I have had a monster 1100evo, just selling my scrambler, so pros and cons please, what cc and what to look out for
1098. Bigger is better after all. I went the same route as you, though from a non-evo Monster 1100. The 848 is still very good but I missed the big torque, so a 1098 it was. Nothing specific to look out for, the usual gig: belts, service and history. Loved mine. I hope Ducati produce another super naked in the future.

If it checks out OK then buy it - it's about £3000 cheaper than a non Cat D so if that doesn't bother you then you won't get better for the money - but check everything / history etc
I recently sold my streetfighter and I don't think you will be disappointed . They are quick, handle lovely but are a pain to ride in town . I did the pipe / ecu thing but from what I've read on this forum and others they would definately benefit from a ecu reflash .
I recently purchased a Monster 1100 and I absolutely love it, its a brilliant machine, it's light the engine is sweet. It doesn't have mega power but it has plenty of torque ..... I find it a seriously fun bike to ride..
I have an 848 SF and I love it. Use it for town work and blasting around B roads. It's brilliant. It's my second and the first I bought after test riding the 1100 evo monster. The monster was lovely and easy going but for me it didn't have the looks and slightly angry nature of the SF. If I had the cash I'd buy it, cat D or no. If it all checks out, it's a bargain. Looks awesome as well.
I dont think so, no. Its not based upon a sportsbike, with flat bars. And though it is a great machine (which it is) it is not sharp or as focussed as a S1000R, Streetfighter, Tuono etc. EDIT - MCN had a piece on super-nakeds this week, their description is similar to mine. Not that means anything in reality.
Streetfighter all the way - looks way better than the monster - just my opinion...never liked the front headlight on the monster...looks like an afterthought...ie "well we started at the back and got it right and then lost interest by the time we got to the front..." Just to re-iterate...streetfighter...streetfighter...streetfighter...got that?
Agreed - that S is lovely....although youll be shelling out a bit to change those pipes...someone's left the wrong ones on there...
Taking another look at that Cat D I notice it doesn't have the carbon belt covers that came as standard on the S. That clutch cover is different too. Probably due to the repair. I mean this as an observation, not to imply it's a wrong 'un in any way.
It's probably due to me wanting to make a bit more on the sale and not realising they were standard. When it had the belt service I had the mechanic put standard plastic ones on. The correct carbon covers are going back on today. They weren't damaged in the accident - that would be one major accident (Cat C probably) to get the cam covers.
