Cars....

  1. I proved that years ago on a run to the Bol D'Or. My little MZ cruised at 20mph slower than my mates were going, but I had a 250+ mile tank range, and actually made time on them despite their extra speed.

  2. did someone say MZ

  3. My daily is a company car-got 52k on it in 18 months :)

Never had a Citroen before but very pleased with it. All the toys and a grunty 150bhp oil burner :)

    My personal car is this:

Running a 1950cc hot motor with up rated suspension. Shows up plenty of traffic light racers

  4. I would beg to differ, but with the caveat that it needs to be something special (although not necessarily expensive). Run of the mill stuff just won't cut it.

In my case, it was this:

Just as involving and soul-stealing as any of my bikes have been, and just as likely to get me killed. You couldn't drive it sensibly.

  5. Oh yes:upyeah:

    Proper bike.

  6. I once did a long trip on French motorways on the 999. Probably cruising most of the time at 100mph (er... sorry officer). I overtook the same lorry about 3 times over a period of several hours. It must have overtaken me every time I stopped for petrol/coffee/water/to give my sore arse a break.

  7. Yep, on my trip all the sportsbikes would fly past. Then every hour they'd fly past again, taking a double-take as they went past...

  8. Cool - I like them

  9. I've got old Lexus IS200. It's a bit dated now but it's built like a tank
I always liked BMW M3 E46 and I'm considering it as my next car I'm just not sure if I can justify high running costs. One day I would love to have an AC Cobra replica or a '55 Ford F100 truck.

  11. im the first to admit..ive had some right sheds. If its under 10 years old im doing well. i could afford a newer but cant really see the point. Ive had a few flash motors but typically one takes a massive hit on depreciation and running costs. Due to my spinal injury i had to sell my last nice car in June. It was a 54plate 350hp Impreza WR1. These are very rare as subaru only made 500 of them to celebrate Petter Solbergs umpteenth world championship. It was a very nice car, brutally powerful (0-60 in 4 secs) with sublime handling and DCCD..rocket ship. Prior to that i had a classic Scooby Sti..again very fast, a wolf in sheeps clothing, but very harsh on the road. It sounded incredible though and could stay with virtually anything and i mean anything on a B road blast. Other nice motors ive had were an MR2 Turbo (very, very underrated car and another road missile, although very tail happy as i found out once when i did a 720 in the wet). I used to own a Porsch 911 SSE Supersport (1987)-same as the turbo (big wing, fat arse) minus the turbo..quick but not in the same league as the scoobies. Now im trundling around in a 52 Mazda 6..very comfy and reliable with piddling running costs..just what i need at the moment.
I might get a flash motor in the future, probably another WR1 or possibly an M3 (E46 shapes' my fave), but ive got other priorities at the moment.

  12. Had a fetish for Boxsters for a few years....Owned 5 in total. Culminating in a new RS60...

  15. This is a Triking. When Pat & I got married, we borrowed one of these for the wedding. Driving it was almost the most fun I had that day. Three-wheelers are never boring (not counting Reliants, obviously).

  16. You gotta be careful riding 3-wheelers. The Morgan club meets at my local, and there's something wrong with their faces; every one of them has white or grey hair and beards, but every one of them to a man/woman has big, bushy, black eyebrows. Most strange.

  18. Rare to see an modern Integra Type R. Did you get it imported, or did you buy it when it was already here?
