Here's one of the first official drag races tape with the Ducati 1199 Panigale S. Nothing particularly spectacular since it's about a stock Ducati, with absolutely no modifications and definitely no drag preparations to it. Even so, the Ducati 1199 Panigale S managed to run the quarter mile in 10.18 seconds, with Wayne and Todd Patterson earning the runner up prize. While the 10.18 sec is no match for the Pattersons' 8 second run with the Turbo Ducati 749, this race lays the foundation for the future events. Wayne did his best but the bike, as it was, was no drag beast: “I couldn’t keep the front wheel down it was still up at about the 200 metre mark. You will here the bike starting to wheelspin at the end of the track as I got out of the groove a bit at about 125mph (201 km/h)” he adds. The Ducati 1199 Panigale S will be lowered and is going to race again most likely next week, and hopefully we get to see awesome results. And we just can't wait for a heavily modified Panigale soon! That would be traction compound sprayed on the track, not water. It's like glue - walk on it and your shoes are nearly dragged off your feet. Note the way the "wet look" surface ends at the end of the quarter mile.
It'll be interesting to see how it develops. FYI, a red light is irrelevant in regards to the recorded time/speed.
