  2. I stayed in Montignac on Thursday night!! The most beautiful place. But in answer to is there a petrol problem the answer is a resounding NO. I have done 1750 miles around France in the last week. I can only guess that I passed way over 100 petrol stations in a week? About 3 with small queus, about 2 closed....but remember most people drive diesel cars in France, so no problem for bikers. Passing through Paris about 4 cars in line in a couple of garages. France is by far the most welcoming place to tour, several times in really poor weather the hotel owners have put our bikes in their conservatories etc if the garage is full, even had one put our bikes in his living space. You can go as fast as you like in the twisty bits, as any speed trap will be on a straight with space to be pulled in off the road, so take it easy on the straights and enjoy the bends, the roads are the best and the tarmac is the best too.

  3. And I was in Montignac on Friday morning for my coffee and cross ants, at midday I popped out to make the little film.
If you are down this way again be sure to PM and we can enjoy a glass of wine together.

  4. Still no fuel problems apart from Sunday's of course, my mates Triumph 675 went from 50 k,s down to 0 before we managed to find a station that took cards .. Talk abut cutting it fine, he had less than a litre left, MTS still had 90kms in the tank. Smug look but still filled up

  5. We loved the town and area so much we reckon on staying for 2 days there next June . See youn then.

  6. We are supposed to putting the bikes on the AutoTrain in Paris on Wednesday next week to Avignon, but there is potentially another strike called (the Auto trains this week are not running during the strike). Looks like we will have to do the motorway slog again, I really don't want to be in the S of France with our bikes still in Paris!

Hopefully they will settle down. Good news about the fuel situation though.

  7. Yes the railways are about to go on strike too. Still no petrol shortage around these parts though.

  8. Just back and all went well and hardly any rain. We take the strain out of the trip by getting the ferry to Santander :sunglasses:

  9. Good news - hopefully the weather will be kind to us too at the EMM this week in Mt Ventoux.:sunglasses:
