Hello, I have had my 95 600ss for just over a year and recently rebuilt the clutch master cylinder in an attempt to be able to find neutral when stopped at the lights (no success i'm afraid) but now i seem to be having real issues with idling and the choke cable. Maybe i put it back together wrong after the clutch master cylinder rebuild. Any one else know of a similar issue, my bike is spluttering and occasional backfire at the moment.
Hello Lovely bike proper colour too They don't like neutral you can find them through the range of gears like 3rd to 4th Try putting it into neutral before you stop Once stopped you have no chance I used to sit in 1st gear What's up with the idling?
Well, a new set of plugs fixed the issue. They were well fouled up, bike is all good now, except finding neutral.
I also struggle to find neutral with the engine running. Reassuring to know it is designed that way!!
That's good You will have to learn neutral Try getting it before you come to a stop A quick tip don't use the throttle when you first start up it can cause flooding Just put choke on if needed turn key and let her fire up then reduce the choke and she should idle nicely
It's not designed that way. With the dry clutch bikes, it's often new plates binding in the basket slots that can be the problem. However, with the wet-clutch 600, that's unlikely to be the case. Firstly, are you getting all of the travel available on the clutch lever? You need some free play but only a little. Next in line is air in the hydraulics. I only got my wet-clutch 750 free of air in the fluid when I fitted a bleed nipple at the top, as well as at the bottom.
It certainly is. Your best bet might be to reverse bleed it by filling from the slave up to the master cylinder instead of the other way round. Bubbles are much keener to go up than down...
