  1. Ha Ha it will be a 'convoy' soon :upyeah:

  2. OOOh forgot to say Welcome

  3. Good move. Don't worry about the mileage if it's been well serviced and looked after.

My 999 has about 33k kms on it now - that must be about 20'000 miles. In perfect running order. Previous 851 and 916 both had 50'000 kms when I sold them. No problems there either.

  4. Welcome to the forum buddy, nice ride, enjoy.

  5. Picking her up at last tomorrow after work. Can't wait. Fingers crossed for a nice weekend :)

  6. Welcome to the 999 owners club :upyeah:

Strongly recommend you get the suspension set up for you as it will complete your riding experience on this great bike. I use John Sanderson in Morley ALPHA SUSPENSION SET-UP - About me It's £25 well spent and takes about an hour to do.

  7. Welcome.
    I love yellow Ducati

And the white ones are nice as well

    The black look great.

But the red ones are absolutely gorgeous, and so much faster !!!

  8. At least they don't suicidally splatter themselves on it when it's stood still.
But splatter is directly proportional to bike speed.

Bug splatter is directly proportional to bike speed.

  10. +1 on the suspension set up. You will not find a better handling bike than a properly set up 999

  11. Thanks guys/girls, I will definitely get the suspension set up. You can't go wrong for that sort of money. Beats spending hours at home trying to only find you've made things worst lol

  12. Enjoy, 999 is a classic in my oppinion but then I might say that as I have owned one for over 8 years :)

  14. Nice, although it appears to be leaking soapy water

  15. Those pillion pegs need to come off :upyeah:

  16. First thing done was a good wash then those pegs were off and put in the box of bits

  17. I sold a 08 gsxr 1000 Moto GP replica and after paying some of my wedding off brought a 749 in red wiv 16000 miles on the clock.....did I regret it, was I mad, for the first week yes I was but every time I go for a ride or pop down to clean and look at her I made the right decision. As long as the bike being looked after and used and you got receipts you should have no issues. With any bike over a certain mileage you take risks but wiv a duc you think after reading what journalists say o.m.g I've made a mistake....it's going to break. Check everything and haggle and to be honest if anyone is going t sell a duc they know what they r on about as you get very personnel about the bike, so what if the mileage is high, if its been looked after then go for it...the other day I was going to swap mine for a rsv1000 in better nick than mine but after thinking about it the money I would have to spend on the RSVP I could spend on making the the duc a bit more personal. Enjoy the 999 and make use of the forum it's been one best I've even on.

  18. One thinks I need to use spell check or cut down on the red wine when posting....

  19. After having a good tinker with the bike and a little ride I have found a few problems. The front subframe, where the left mirror bolts on to has snapped and been repaired with a zip tie  so bike shop has ordered on from Ducati. The other problem is abit worrying, when sitting in traffic sometimes the engine comes on but goes out again when moving. Also after I cleaned it the engine came on but after a quick rev it went out again. When the dash first starts up and says 999 is it right to have EN in the bottem of the screen?
