1299 Constand Dolly Style..

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by LeDuke, May 31, 2016.

  1. Hello All,

I am currently embroiled in a small disagreement with Motea from Germany.
I bought a ConStand Dolly Style, which means you jack up the bike and wheel it around. This is a picture of apperently what it should look like (Attached)
What I have received looks like a normal paddock stand with side wheels thrown in. It seems impossible to assemble and the instructions dont even make sense.
Can anyone please actually put up a picture to show me if they have bought one. It would really help

  2. The picture you have posted does look like what you say you have though.... It is essentially just a rear paddock stand on a 3 wheeled frame.

  3. Jolley, this is what they sent me.
Its a normal paddock stand. And they threw in the dolly side bits. But there isnt the centre section that Jacks the bike up. Its like they mixed up the boxes and sent me a standard paddock stand, with the bottom half only of the dolly section.
Im hoping to find a user on here that actually has one so he/she can send a pic over, they wont accept they sent me the wrong items.

  4. Looking at it I though if you were to take the wheels off the "paddock stand" the axel for the wheels appears to be the bit that locates on the dolly stand extensions. However, the dolly stand extension pieces where the axel sits appears to be on the wrong side!! Odd. :confuse: Looks like two mismatched pieces to me...

  5. Spot on, they are mismatched, the tubing on the paddock stand is circular and the dolly style is square. The wheels are welded on because its a normal paddock stand, if i can get a picture from someone that actually has them i can show these idiots that they are wrong. Its unbelieveably irritating to have a supplier simply say: "You have the correct item, but if you dont like it send it back!" What i want is what i paid for!

  6. I wouldn't worry too much about round/tubular, as they may have slightly changed that. I had the same thought as ReB1299, that the product photo has the wheel axles without wheels slotting into the lower trolley section. Where the lower trolley frame goes out and up/down I think you'll find a hole in the face of the frame opposite the clip. I'm sure if you take the wheels off you will be able to slot one axle into the frame and the other is held by the clip (the same on each side). The paddock stand then just works like a normal paddock stand, but just ends up on the trolley.

  7. As an additional note, you will have to slide the two sides of the trolley off first, slot the inner axles into the holes in the frame, put the pins in to hold the outer axles, then slide the two sides of the trolley back into the u shaped part.

  8. Jolley, You are a gem! I still dont see why the instructions or techsupport of motea cannot simply have said: take the wheels off the stand!
Either way i followed your instructions above and think i have assembled it.. Question is about the adaptor pin that jacks the bike up, It has an allen key type bolt at one end and the other end goes into the bike. How do I tighten this? Its a bit loose. I cant tighten it fully without something on the other side. Do you guys jack up the bike and then tighten the bolt? The instructions are non existent.

  9. But the image shows the paddock stand sitting inside the dolly frame, not the outside. Hang on a second. Have you put the square tube legs on the wrong side? The extension pieces will be on the inside if you swap them over!

  10. lol, ahh see you sussed it. :)

  11. the way i have assembled it, it looks exactly like the product picture in my 1st post. So it seems, it was supposed to be assembled like this, the problem im having is tighten the pin. t But i think i sorted. Final question for whomever can answer for me. Whats you opinion if its safe to have the bike up on the paddock stand all the time when not riding it. or are these stands for servicing only and its better on its side stand.
thanks for all your help guys

  12. Any stand that can not tolerate any duration of weight should not be sold period. I would not have any doubts about these passing any of your tests. You shan't worry about the bike as its merely over 400 lbs curb weight.

  13. The only thing to look out for as you move the bike around is that it is relatively easy to slide the bike off of the axle pin... So just keep an eye on that or the bike could end up on the floor. Leaving it permanently on the stand isn't a problem though.
