Being broad shouldered, okay a fat bastard, all I see in the 1098 mirrors is me. Oberon make what looks like a good quality 2" extender and was wondering if anyone on here has tried them ? Ta, Andy
I can't give an opinion on the Oberon extenders. I have used the original Ducati extenders. The visibility improves somewhat, but I'm still doing the crazy chicken to have a proper look at what's behind me.
I haven't tried the extenders either but there have been a fair old number of threads about the Ducati and the Oberon extenders, reviews are very mixed Personally although I think the standard mirrors are pants and far too short, the main problem is not the length but the mounting of the mirror inside the shell. They vibrate horribly and you cannot see anything out of them. I swapped for DP mirrors, which are even smaller but don't vibrate, I still chicken dance but at least I can see what is in the mirror behind me The only sure fire solution I know of is motoscience, but its a pretty costly road to travel. That said the guy is first class and knows how to ship to the UK Moto-Science : The Ducati Mirrors Specialist - Home Not sure if that is any help or not, probably not John
When I bought mine I also thought that the mirrors were crap but it only took 20 miles before I realised that you need to look inside your arms rather than outside. If you made the mirrors long enough to see outside of your arms then the vibration would make them useless anyway.
I'm a Euro size 60 and it requires the movement of more than just my elbow to glimpse what is behind me. Just looking for an easier ride. Andy
