is it right if you fit different size sprockets the speedo is t effected on the panigale as the pick up is on the rear wheel? Thanks.
It won't make any difference if the sensor is measuring wheel speed, because the wheel diameter hasn't changed by changing the sprocket.
Got mine here... Hard Anodised Rear Aluminium Sprocket : 899 Panigale £30.64 Decent price, because on the 848 you had to buy a sprocket adaptor as well for around £90 or so. These are just a straight swap with the surprisingly heavy steel one already on there.
I have a really lightly used 2 teeth bigger (pretty sure it's a 46) than the standard 899 rear sprocket that I can't fit because my stock chain doesn't allow it. What size have u put on as the 959 uses a smaller one doesn't it? The speedo isn't affected because the pickup is on the brake disc but if u change the tyre size it will change things Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yes, the sprocket on mine is the standard size for the 899 (which is 1 tooth more than the standard 959 sprocket). Will it not fit if you spin the adjuster block round the other way?
Actually, on the speed front I saw 160mph at 10,000rpm. theoretically the exact speed for that gearing at those revs is 153mph, so only a couple of % out, which you would expect. (Yes, standard on 959 is 43t, with 899 being 44t)
Nope, the axle was all the way forward and when I put the weight on the bike it was like a guitar string! Here is the difference it made then putting the 44 back in.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Going up 1 tooth meant I had to move the wheel in a few more. Prob 3 full turns of the adjustment bolt forward Chain wouldn't have been long enough to go up 2 teeth You could try going down 1 on the front instead, this will make the chain slacker.
