Hi Folks, looking to get an aftermarket seat for my 2015 Mutley so if you good people could let me know your opinions on what is any good or what to steer clear of... Lee.
I did 240 mile on mine yesterday and was suprised how comfortable I found the seat. i.e. I didn't give it a moments thought all the time I was out. I did suffer problems with my Tuono however and a Sargent seat made the world of difference.
Hey Lee i have the Ducati touring seat for the 15 DVT much better for me than the standard but still not perfect
The Ducati / Touratech Comfort seat is (IMO) far better than the original seat, I have done a couple of 380 miles days recently with no issues. It is flatter and allows you to move about a bit on it as well which helps on AutoRoute slogs. It is however expensive!
I tried to put up with the standard seat for 6 months, but could only manage <50 miles before giving up for the day. I bit the bullet and ordered a Touratech/Ducati seat ealier this year. Although not perfect, I can now easliy do half a day without issues. I haven't had the chance of a full day as yet. Oh, I paid c£300. RRP is £400-ish. JFDI.
I have the low seat - because I am a short arse - I can do about 120 miles - then I am ready to get off - does anyone know of a more comfortable low seat - but that's probably not possible as there is no room for padding.
Does the Touratech seat fit the motorcycle better than the stocker does? Nothing like having a new bike and having huge gaps under the seat.
Ah! The ole Tuono seat! I remember it well.... Well my arse still does anyway. I could ride over a 10p and tell you heads or tails with that bad boy. The DVT feels positively plush compared to that.
Afraid not, as it uses the same plastic base as the OEM seat. The foam is more dense, a bit higher and a different shape.
My used bike came with the low seat. I purchased the Ducati (tour a tech) comfort seat. It sits about 1 inch higher. At 30 inch inseam I not longer flatfoot but it's much better and my arse doesn't hurt after 45 minutes.
With a size of 190cm i had a lot of pain with the original seat. Checked some YT videos, bought a foam, spay glue and reshaped the seat by myself. I did it first time and i´m happy since ~10tkm now. More width in the front and lowered the back to follow my "curves" A more flat seat position now....And i use the original slip from the seat.Looks like original.
Used an air hawk on mine for long days Great bit of kit , even after 600 mile days , looks shite mind
