  1. As a friend of mine discovered with a run in with the law during a split from his ex. Registered keeper is just that, the receipt in his ex's name proved her to be the owner.

I don't then understand how you can actually prove you are the registered owner?

I have a receipt for a bike I owned two bikes ago but I dont have that bike now. The new owner will have a reg document in his name (registered keeper) and I have a letter from the DVLA to say I am not the registered keeper any more. The new owner may well have lost the tatty scrap of paper I wrote his receipt on. Does that make me still the registered owner of that bike?

  2. It really doesn't matter. Really it doesn't.

We need resolution on this case cos it's starting to bore me now.

  3. That is why when you buy/sell second bar vehicles in most of not entire Europe you make a quick contract. In many countries there are pre designed contracts thatvare recognised in courts. Every second hand bike I bought privately I used that contract if owners said no I said there is plenty fish in sea buy.

  4. Anything ever happen to this bike then?
