1199 Tricolore Questions

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by DanABZ, Jun 9, 2016.

  1. Hey guys,

A couple of questions about the Tricolore because a workmate has just bought one and I think that he's been ripped off a bit.

If I remember rightly they had the Termignoni cans as standard? The dealer has sold him the bike without them on and was going to make him pay extra for them to be bought/fitted.

Secondly, is there anything else that really differentiates it from a 'normal' 1199 that I can get him to check and make sure that he hasn't been sold an 1199 with just a Tricolore paint job?

    Thanks lads

  2. All the reviews I read (I was thinking of getting one) said it came with Titanium slip one and the DDA+ gizmo. Beyond that, it should have the forged wheels and ohlins shock/fork. I'm sure someone who has one will be along in a minute, because my vague knowledge is just from journalist reviews, which are not always a true reflection of fact!

  3. Yeah, that's all I could manage to get info from as well... I was hoping that there would be a XXX/500 plaque or something but I don't think that's the case. As for the DDA+, can that be visually checked somehow? It's attached to the nose cowl frame in the middle isn't it?

  4. The Tricolor is basically an 1199S with the nice paint job and the DDA and GPS package so yes it should definitely have the Termis. The GPS is under the bottom of the screen in the nose, I think you can see it through the screen but not 100% without checking but he should have the GPS letters come up on the screen when it automatically get's it location. The Ducati Data Analyser is a red USB like device that plugs in under the tail seat area. It will not be plugged in already as they can drain the battery if left connected but he'll have a greyed out option on the main menu screen. Hold the lower selector button for three seconds to get to the main menu.

  6. On the official Trics the nose fairing is carbon which is revealed under the lights, most of the lookalikeys don't have this.

  7. Thanks for that, very helpful! I presume that's exposed carbon is it? A bit hard to tell from the photo unfortunately...

  8. Yeah exposed carbon you need to look closely it's very dark, if it's a paint job only probably painted black or left red, I think the tank "Ducati" is white on the Trics and silver on the standard S's although that's an easy fix

  9. According to the Ducati model archive, Tricalore had aluminium sleeved exhausts. There is also an extensive list of the electronics you should have. Andy

  10. I am sure I know this bike, if it's the one from Jhp it's a genuine tric, the previous owner removed the termi's as a few of us have done and sold them separately but rest assured if is is that one its 100% a tric, I was interested in it at one point.

  11. Thanks for that, I'll ask him if that's where he bought it then. [emoji4]

  12. The easiest way is to look at the bottom of the screen, it has a rectangular GPS receiver which is clearly labelled. Also, if in any doubt, just get the frame number and contact Ducati.

  13. Termignoni end cans come as standard, however the full open pipe manifold system is at extra cost. Spec includes the DDA (Digital Data Analyser) DES, DTC, ABS, EBC, DQS, full ride by wire and a carbon front mudguard. Inside the rear seat unit 'vents' these would be white in colour compared to black on the plain Red 1199 or 1199 S bikes. Hope this helps.

  14. Yup that's what mine is.

Shame not to have the Termi's.

  15. Nose fairing definitely wasn't carbon on Tri

  16. A friend of mine bought one new and definately got the Termis.

  17. They came with Termi end cans...strangely they got the full system free in USA
