Well,I have done it again. In a moment of complete madness a few weeks ago I bought another totally inappropriate bike. Well to be totally honest it wasn't all my fault,Mrs Mervyn saw a photo of it and said that I really should have it. It was bought from a really nice guy on this Forum-he was good enough to deliver it to me,by van, personally. Today was the day for my first ride.the planets were aligned correctly, the weather was fine, and all the omens were good.Off I went.I was not to be disappointed, the riding position was pretty good for my old bones and I felt part of the bike after only a few minutes riding.Lots to like about the bike both visually and sensory.lovely big rev counter right in sight, smooth gear change, and an exhaust note to die for. The bike rides beautifully and is very confidence inspiring-doesn't take much to get up to naughty speed numbers:Angelic: The brakes are phenomenal. What was very impressive was the acceleration in the higher gears, very intoxicating. All in all I must say this is one exciting and beautiful machine, and I feel priviledged to have it in my garage. My ride was soon over, but the grin factor has lasted me all day.
Hi @mervyn , first of all, do you have a Mrs Merv mk2 hiding anywhere? She's got great taste and coupled with a "go and get it" it's a marriage made in heaven!! A beautiful bike you got yourself there Mervyn, I hope you enjoy it as much as I love its baby brother, a credit to its previous owner, Plenty of gentle miles Mervyn, and keep up the optimism, Only a couple more weeks and my spine should be ready for the first ride of 2016
Thank you for your kind words Andy.I think Mrs Mervyn has got a great deal of patience with me and indulging my 'bike problem'. Very good wishes for your spine recovery, and your first ride of 2016,that will be a red letter day for you for sure. Gentle and careful miles for you as well, and no overdoing it.
