Im in for Silverstone, do I have to request a place in a garage prior to turning up? Its 15 years since I did one of these so not really up on the routine. In fact the day was 9/11 2001 @ Silverstone, I didn't know what had happened in New York until I got home in the evening! Was anyone else at Siverstone on that day doing the Ducati Track Day?
Sorry,Dibs and Tobytyke and a few others i met and did not realise you were forum members or i would have introduced myself properly.Only managed a couple of sessions as i did not arrive until nearly 10,had to do a bit of creeping to get some tracktime,i was a little rusty and i finally realised that i need a trackbike again as i just cant relax on my 899.
If you have a local/regular dealer see if they are going there or you can just pitch up and use a garage

They'd put me with Bristol for some reason, but my local garage is Aylesbury They did ask when i booked silverstone for Aylesbury, but as I got into Donny last minute, I think they just put me in the garage with the least people (in in that case, no people ) Some of the other dealers seemed to have mechanics and tea/coffee. I fancy some of that

Decided to scrub in a new set of Metzeler Racetech Interacts at Silverstone (weather permitting) so for anyone running track tyres, I've got 4 X 120/70/17 K1s and 1 X 190/55/17 K2 (well) scrubbed tyres still with a couple of days in them which I'll bring with me if anyone is interested. Not looking for money but I do like Estrella, Peroni or Stella . If I make my mind up about tyres for the 1098R, I might also have a pair of Pirelli Diablo Supercorsas, BSB 120/70/17 front and SP 190/55/17 rear with about 100 miles on them, £175 the pair. Andy

I did shoot it through the fence. Used the zoom and put it between the fence links. Didn't always work but most did. This is one of me, same camera, same corner. By someone who shall remain nameless. Don't you just love the detail on that fence! Perfect shot and if you look carefully I'm there.
Anyone else looking forward to taking their pride and joy out in the rain on Thursday....................
Already packed the wets although I might decide to fit them before setting off if the forecast doesn't improve. Andy
Can't get 2 weather forecasts to say the same thing. It looks like the odd shower during the day so a decent set of road tyres will be fine. I'm taking wets because I have sticky track tyres fitted as normal and you don't want to be on those even in the damp. Andy
