Can someone let me know how easy it is to replace the right side clutch cover and lower right panel? Basically my insurance repairs from when that kid knocked my bike over a couple of weeks back have been approved but HYSIDE (urghh) want to have my bike on site for the entire duration; when they order the parts to the completion and approval of the work - they estimated a week to 10 days – something I’m unable to do as I need it to get to work on it. The insurance firm have offered to pay me the whole lump sum minus VAT so if I order the parts and someone can help me fit them, I’ll happily split the 4 hours labour costs that were quoted with you (approx £320 split two ways). Having had mine replaced its not simply just a cover like it is on some bikes. It's actually quit a substantial part.. I'd personally leave it with them. Saves aggro as well if anything goes wrong.
They wouldn’t agree to it in case they ordered the parts and I didn’t show up. This despite the insurance company agreeing to pay the costs, me living round the corner and me servicing my bike there less than two weeks ago. Apparently theyre “not into sending the heavies round” if someone disappears (his words).
Get them to do it, far less hassle and you're covered if something goes wrong. See if they'll give you a loaner bike.
