Can you indent the sides to accommodate the cans, while leaving the corners full size? Don't see how anyone could ask for more than that??
Well, I did think of that but don't want to be too close to the pipes just in case they get too hot...
I seem to remember my old 1100s hyper going through with a full size (lettered) numberplate which was cut to the edges and that went through....its just a ball ache as it'll take me all night to get it fitted to get it mot'd and then put the 7x5 back on there...ive got a temp one set up on the rsv4 so I can switch it for the MOT in about 10 minutes...
I prefer a number plate that can be covered with a box of household matches? 50 are usually so shocked by the noise etc that the size of my rear number plate becomes irrelevant
6" x 4 1/2" on my 1098s..............................must make me a hooligan I is a good boy when it comes to MOT time though....................nice legal plate suddenly appears, it even has that tasteful EU ring of stars and GB on it
Could someone point me the direction of an online site that supplies/makes smaller p!ates? 7x5 seems to be popular. Thanks

On my first trip to Italy on my 749 it had road legal plates visited the Padua Ducati garage ( clutch playing up). The manager and mechanic's came out to look at the bike they loved I'd come from England on it. Bleed the clutch and gave it a full check over only charged me 10 euro and gave me some freebies but laughed at the size of the number plate. My head hung low with shame first thing I did when home was get a small plate. Went back the next year head held high they remember me checked the bike for free tremendous chaps
When I got t-boned on my old TLR years ago, my insurance company would not pay out as I had changed the number plate size. Was told a change to either the size, typeface or typeface size is a modification, therefore the bike is non standard which I had not declared. Secondly, it is an illegal modification. Sometimes you just cant win, just make sure you keep it shiny did up!
I would say things change....ie, mce (my insurance company) don't load the premium for modifications, they just want to know...ie if my bike comes to a sticky end then they only pay out for what you've valued it for and you pay accordingly....although they'll be putting it up by 200 quid this year as my wife got rear ended in our car....so the insurance company tells me just the fact that's she's been in an accident doesn't matter if its her fault or not....bloodsuckers...
Whaaaaaat???? She gets rear-ended and the premium goes up? I can almost understand this if the rear-ender cleared off and she had to claim on her own insurance but if the claim was on their insurance, this is totally inexcusable
Yep - apparently that's the norm....purely cos she was there an he hit her shes a "party" to the accident....it couldn't be any more his fault.... 1. Wife was stationary waiting to turn right into our road. 2. the side of the road she is on is wide enough for cars to pass on her left. 3. The road is straight. 4. There was nothing else on the road (behind her) apart from him. 5. He still managed to hit her. 6. When he got out he was still on his phone. 7. My wifes words..."he seemed totally out of it like he'd just smoked something" as he smelt... And for all of that my bike insurance has gone from 450 to 650...cunt. Whats even funnier is when she asked him his name he got his own surname wrong twice then proceeded to tell my wife "ive got a mate that can spray that up..." the bumper was on the floor and there was a hole in the boot....fucking asshole...
