Anyone know this bike or have an opinion thats more valuable than mine about whether it seems decent or not.... Ducati 748S Satin Grey Senna Rare | eBay Not many around so no idea if its fairly priced... its had 3 previous keepers current one has had it a few weeks only.
They didn't do Senna 748's but I guess you know that. The ad is worded as such even if the title isn't. Looks nice but seems a lot of money to me for a different colour, I don't know what they would normally go for though.
This is the third one I've seen in the past year the last one was sold on eBay in May this year and starting bid was £4k or bin for £5250 it sold in 3hrs and a dealer had one for around £5500? i think Elitesuperbikes parted one out this year, also don't think they were ever called Senna from new, personally i love the colour and have wanted one for a few years now and follow them.
I'm going to go out on a limb here but I thought the 3 official releases of the Senna were 916s. A quick check of the Ducati archive shows the last 748S with Showa forks and rear shock was made in 2002. The later 2003/2004 748 wasn't designated "S" and had a different spec rear shock. Andy
coincidence that the same seller had another?? same tel no and location as the one on ebay 2002 Ducati 748S for sale in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, Uk - Usedmotors4sale.co.uk
Erm, different bikes - same seller, stop half reading posts and jumping to the wrong conclusion :Watching:
I'm not sure but looking at the prices of other 748's it's not bad for a rare one , maybe a little high but if someone wants something different they might pay it.
It's a 748s you can make any 2002 model that color and it makes no difference. It was just a color option at the time that not many people knew about so didn't sell many. I love the Grey with red wheels so looked into it a bit. What i found is its definitely not a Senna bike. Only 250 where sold in that color. 200 in the US 30 in the UK and 20 in mainland europe and the rest of the world. But there is nothing stopping you of getting a 2002 s in yellow or Red and painting it. Then ask over the top prices. No documents special plats or anything that says its limited edition as it wasn't. Beautiful bike though.
Ignoring the fact it's not a Senna, it's £6250, I would probably want to try and get it under 6k but really mint 748's are going in the high 5k range from looks of it. My friend paid £6250 for his 2002 'R' last year but it has more miles and isn't immaculate like this, having said that the 'R' seems to be shooting well into the 7K range Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I have a 748s and even 5k is a bit of a stretch if you ask me! I'd love it if I could get that for my mint s. Saying that 8000 miles on the clock is really good. If I could afford it I would be happy to pay 5500 for the grey one above. Any more I'd start to feel hard done by.
As mentioned this is a straight 748S finished in gunmetal, it was the next model up from the 748E and was a few thousand dearer as it came with Marchesini wheels. The other colour option was Yellow. They were certainly available in 2002 as I saw one when I was purchasing my 998 at the time. This was the last of the 748's and had the same engine as the base model if I remember correctly. No doubt they were finished in this colour to clear out the model range ready for the 749 to take its place. There is no link with the real\genuine Senna models at all and it was never sold as such.
So it has service paperwork but the book is not stamped up and it swapped hands just weeks ago for between 4k and 5.3k I also like the sound of the one that Russ is building up back to factory standard at Ducati mondo and its done less than 5k and just as bettes described it above
