Have the people of the UK ever agreed to become citizens of the EU ? I would be very disappointed if Brexit leads to the breakup of the UK. The tide has just turned against the ever closer union of the EU and I suspect more countries will vote to leave. Scotland would be crazy to act in haste.
The was vote to leave, UK hasn't left yet. The fun has only started. I'm not so sure they will leave.
I get the Scottish desire/passion for independence. I really do. I think it would be a shame and a mistake, but I get it. What I don't get, is the equal desire/passion to give it away immediately, to be controlled by the EU.
Yes. A majority of people in Scotland voted for the UK to Remain a member of the EU. Asking them whether they wish to leave the UK and apply for entry to the EU is a completely different question. Or do you think it isn't ?

You're confusing a desire for independence with a passionate desire to be ruled by absolutely anyone, as long as it isn't Westminster :Hilarious:
While this seems like sage advice to me, I'm not sure it's in the interest of Alex-in-a-dress to wait and see. The UK's out vote will surely have revitalised the push for independence for those already with that mindset and she might be able to cash in on the unsettling effect of the UK as a whole moving against the majority of Scottish voters. Personally, I think time is her enemy and she knows it.
"Bank of England pledges £250bn liquidity" Utter mentalists & idiots are telling the worlds stock markets please rip the uk-currency into shreds..we will keep pumping money into your foreign pockets! The fools & their folly but no one will have a go at soros as his ilk.
Not as far fetched an idea as it seems, adopting the pound. As for joining the UK its never going to happen but the worst thing that happened over here was the adoption of the euro. I remember a pint going from £2 to €3.50 very quickly. It was like the perfect excuse for every arsehole to jack the prices up of almost everything. Nothing ever went down, just up further! It what i like when i visit the UK, there's good competition and prices are watched keenly for everything, over here it just doesn't really happen. We turned into a nation of shit takers. Great at grumbling but nobody actually does fuck all. I've heard it discussed umpteen times by people here, I for one, don't think it would be a bad idea adopting a long standing and relevant currency.
