Are you saying Brexit will never happen, pete? I think that's my view to now. I'm certain no political party ( other than UKIP and we all know what sort of individual is in charge of that) and very few politicians have the stomach to see it through. There is also of course those who contribute towards the coffers of the main political parties and no doubt their opinion will hold a lot of sway too. Can anyone really see a mandate to sign Article 50 being approved by a majority in parliament in the near future?
Im not sure if its been posted yet but if so i apologise, however, has anybody seen the Farage speech today? Im not saying i condone it, nor would it do us any favours if he was anywhere near the negotiation table.....but boy has that bloke got MASSIVE BALLS!
Probably not helpful, but he's put up with their arrogance and cockiness for 17years. I can forgive him his moment. Jean-Claude Junker and Guy Verhofstadt are arrogant w**kers and need to be brought down a peg or two.
not atoll roberno. its a bear pit in here. some times i get mauled sometimes i dont. never once have i heard pete lower the debate to levels i have heard on here at times. i often disagree with the sentiment but rarely the motive. i dont come on ere to read the daily mail. thats why some are on ignore.
I see Helmet Head is heading to Brussels tomorrow with a 'team of experts' to negotiate, I wonder of she will be offering £350 billion for the privilege, sorry 400 billion Euro's (don't worry, you will get nearly half of it back to spend as you wish in Northern Island:Angelic: - it's going to be awfully quite on this thread, but keep us informed guys
No, you come on here to preach The Socialist Worker or The Scotsman. Leave me on ignore, I'm enjoying the tranquility. I guess you might see my posts through proxy replies, but hey ho, I'm sure you are big enough to handle that.
This i find extraordinary although I'm probably miss reading it. "European Central Bank president Mario Draghi told Tuesday's meeting of EU leaders the bank's forecast for growth in the eurozone over the next three years was being cut by roughly 0.3 to 0.5% because of the prospect of Brexit, EU sources say." It's towards the bottom of the page in this link : Brexit vote: Bitter exchanges in EU parliament debate - BBC News So if it's been cut from 0.8% forecasted growth with the UK in, to 0.5% without, then that would suggest a drop of 37.5% growth due to the UK leaving? That can't be right can it?
I suppose it all depends on the trade deal brokered. As echoed by Nigel Farage today, they would be mad to try and punish the UK, they need a tariff free deal more than we do. Also they have lost our net contribution (or will do once we leave), this has to impact. Subsidies to Romanian potato growers may have to be cut. Add in the uncertainty of it all and other states possibly going down the same route, it makes a bit of sense to me.
I watched it live this morning, and they appeared to edit the parts out where he was applauded. In my opinion he should lead the negotiating team on the UK's behalf. He appears to have no fear or apprehension whatsoever, and his single minded approach to getting us the best possible deal would stand us in good stead. Farage has no truck with lily-livered civil servants either,I think he'd be the first to tell the world if there was any back tracking on the Referendum promise. It's time for some straight talking. . Mr Tusk has declined a meeting which makes no difference to her she'll talk to anyone and the bbc will cover it.
No. The precise wording is But European Central Bank president Mario Draghi told Tuesday's meeting of EU leaders the bank's forecast for growth in the eurozone over the next three years was being cut by roughly 0.3 to 0.5% because of the prospect of Brexit, EU sources say. i.e. the growth in the Eurozone will be 0.3 - 0.5% less than it otherwise would have been if the UK had remained. Which is probably less than the margin of error in the forecast
She's going to make a fool of herself here. I can see her getting blanked at every turn and this is very poor judgement, but her desperation not to leave the EU is clouding her vision as she knows the Scots will never vote to rejoin once out with all of the caveats attached for doing so. Popcorn at the ready while watching the news tomorrow for me
