British Indy: What Happens Now?

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. Agreed, things don't need to get so heated and there really shouldn't be this continuous talk of racism as its frankly a low blow and unfounded.

Some people voted to leave (Not all racists I'm sure)

Some people voted to remain (Not all racists Im sure)

Just over half got what they wanted, just under half didn't.

As far as I'm cornered thats it, job done and case closed.

If those in the remain camp wish to continue with moaning thats fine, but moan, don't point fingers

Equally those in the leave camp shouldn't gloat, we're not out the woods yet.

We all need this to work, some of us are more optimistic than others of the possible outcomes but that doesn't make any of us right no matter who they are, leave or remain.

NONE of us have a clue whats going to happen.

  2. As previously mentioned economics is not known as "the dismal science" for nothing, and economics is interlinked with politics, which is why they are often studied together alongside philosophy, which is what @Pete1950 read at Oxford at the same college as Jeffry Archer if I remember correctly.

  3. Who gave you a chill pill Rodders :Wideyed::Wideyed::Wideyed::Wideyed::Wideyed::Wideyed::Wideyed::Wideyed::Wideyed::Wideyed::Wideyed::Wideyed::Wideyed::Wideyed::Wideyed::Wideyed::Hilarious: well done, a diplomatic TT - the most surprising thing I have heard or read since the results :upyeah:

  4. I know for a fact there was two choices. Leave or remain so to state that we shouldn't vote leave because a minority group that would have voted leave is ridiculous. I myself am mixed race. My partner she is from Croatia and our daughter is also is a mixture of both of us. People need to stop before they wrong accuse people of being racist because they voted as that is the way they all did. [emoji35]

  5. nobody said that. but to think it wasn't gonna happen is naive. and nor should it be allowed to go unsaid that it happens no burying of heads please. call it out when you see it.
yip. racism soft or hard is a v.low blow. a v.low blow indeed.

  8. no no,, i have not "" chilled " nor being " diplomaTTic ",, i am just stating the obvious, and i still stand by everything i have said in response to people being unnessassarily rude and insulting... ( and,, IIRC i am the first person on here to raise the possability / likelihood / inevitability of the exit ref being overturned / ( legally ) ignored )

  12. That is definitely true but my take is...... Cameron said he would sign Article 50 the next day if the vote was to leave - he didn't.

Boris said he would stand to be leader and was expected to be the next PM - He didn't and won't.

They will run out of anyone prepared to sign it soon - And even then they probably will not have the support of the Parliamentary Conservative Party. It will be a very very brave and stupid person who goes against the wishes of his Parliamentary party.

  13. I'm not arguing but choosing to go against the party line or against the will of the public shouldn't actually be a choice at all. But maybe that's the difference between democracy and politics as practised.

  16. I am not saying you are a racist and I expect you are not but

"I employ a Greek bloke" isn't a "defence" for want of a better expression, for a couple of reasons.

Firstly, assuming you are both white, you can't be racist towards him. You could only be xenophobic.

Secondly, that defence is like saying

"I have a black/gay friend". People having black or gay friends can still be racists or homophobic.

I am reminded of a certain Ron Atkinson who has made some racist remarks, but says he isn't racist because he signed some black footballers. He described them as the "3degrees".

You are using a weak argument, and I wouldn't use that if I were you fella.

  17. That makes some great points.i hadn't thought about the key one.

If rUK tries to bully an Indy Scotland over trade, it will find itself well pumped by the 500million people in the EU and will find its own trade well and truely fucked.

  18. The child molesters who voted Remain did not vote Remain because they were child molesters; it was irrelevant. The racists who voted Leave did vote Leave because they were racists; the relevancy is patent.

  19. No, Jeffery Archer did not read for a degree at Oxford University at all (although he sometimes falsely claimed he had done), let alone at my college - which was the college of Clement Attlee, Harold Wilson, and Bill Clinton.

  20. Iirc, Jeffrey made all sorts of spurious claims. Didn't he make some claim to have been a successful athlete?
