I'm looking forward to seeing more pictures, looks really smart. Is it being officially launched tomorrow? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hard to judge by that photo but front end looks like an ERF Kawa. Back end looks sporty so unbalanced. Don't like it.
I think the official launch is EICMA and this was a private viewing for back stage pass holders at WDW, no cameras please....hence no decent internet coverage.
You could say the Monster was an unfaired Supersport and it did not fail. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
If it is one piece, ie tank and at least half the fairing, I don't think I'd dare try and do it in carbon. I'd be too worried about fit. It's a massive slab.
The bike is brand new, it’s just the frame that comes from XDiavel and Monster trellis frame. There are some components used on other bikes but otherwise it’s a completely new bike. The Supersport is not an entry-level sportsbike. That would be a bike for beginners, this is not that. This is a sportsbike designed for the road. There will be two models, the Supersport and the Supersport S. The main difference is that the S has Öhlins suspension front and rear, and a removable rear seat cowl. The dash is completely new with new functionality, and is ready for the Ducati multimedia system, the same as on Multistrada. The headlamp shape is completely new, the shape was inspired by Panigale but the headlamp has daytime running lights. The exhaust is new as well as the complete fairing. This bike is for customers who desire a sportsbike with versatility and with road focus performance. It is for riders who don’t want a bike for trackdays so this is a bike that is sporty and at the same time comfortable in terms of seating position. It is not in the Panigale family. The start price will be between £11,000 and £12,500 (13-15,000 Euros) for the Supersport, for the S model I cannot say."
@Rob beat me to it cos I've been out all day getting my Pani serviced ready for my trip to jockland next weekend. Looks like an interesting development. Ducati Manchester didn't know about it as the GM was waiting for a call from one of his staff to tell him what was being launched. His guess was the blinged up Panigale and an 1100cc Scrambler.
'The engine is designed to be really smooth' - I wonder if that means they have taken low rpm shudder away like in the Panigale engine?
Haha have u ridden an 848 evo! Thing used to shake my fillings out every time I tried to pull away Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Looks very interesting, and a possibility going forwards, but and its a huge BUT. If Ducati have made the engine smooth as a Honda, then I really don't want to know. I feel that it what happened to the DVT, hence I kept my twin spark. Prefer KTM 1290 GT engine to DVT, seems quite a few Ducatisti poking KTM nowadays. I these themes ranges of Ducati are aimed at new customers to the marque, and I hope I don't get squeezed out, but I guess there is far more sales to be had from a new clientele.
