120 on the way to the TT in 96, accepted a fixed penalty on that one. Bless him, and 110mph near abergavenny in 99, 4 month ban....... bugger.
176mph in spain! Didn't get caught though. Just found myself on a stretch of open road in the middle of nowhere with no traffic, no walls etc, only open fields either side. Just thought to myself, this is the time to open her up. I don't want to come across as a moron though as I am very respectful of speed limits etc when in built up areas. I was once caught at 130mph in the early 90's in my sierra XR4x4 which had a flowed head and twin turbo technics blowers on it. I did have a blue uniform at the time though lol.
40 in a 30 zone, cash camera job. First week back at work after a long sick absence, at a brand new office and on my new 750 Sport ie. Didn't know the route well and didn't realise there was a camera (if you saw how many road signs there were at that location, you'd understand - you'd have to travel at walking pace to take them all in). Mind you, that must have been a bonanza day in terms of revenues, I was simply keeping up with the rest of the traffic when I got flashed.
80 - 90 in a 40 limit in Doncaster - GPz550 - nicked by copper on Norton Rotary 79.4 in a 60 "on the open road" on the way to Cadwell - unmarked car. "we've been following you at a steady 100mph for 7 miles" on the M11 going to Brands, 4x4 Sierra - didn't see him cos I had no mirrors on that bike. Attended court, but escaped the expected bans for the first and last which "only" cost me about a weeks wages and three points each. The other was a fixed £32 and 3 points. All a long time ago. I'm a good boy now......
144 mph in a CLK 55 AMG Late for a meeting in London got stuck in road works then floored it. Unmarked plod caught me. Banned for 14 days and £700 plus fine. My brief cost a bit too but he was brilliant and worth every penny . I have now grown up (I think)
I wonder who posted this:- IMO 152mph on the road whats the point really. Your going to get caught so you may aswell of paid for a track day and done it properly (cheaper) than paying the fine, your lawyer and getting banned. This guy gets window licker status for sure Oh, the irony
i escaped from the plod many moons ago but my mate got pinched....i was travelling in excess of 160mph at the time and made a spirited ride away from a second T5 with blues and twos going..i later had a business card shoved through my door requesting my presence at the local nick..needless to say i never obliged figuring that if they had anything concrete then they wouldnt try such a limp wristed trick to try and get me to cough... Pretty quick that old Fireblade was.
totally agree with you, but i guess the answer is, 'because its there'. Europe and the race track are the only places where one can enjoy a sportsbike..which is really why i dont miss not riding Bella the Bitch for the couple of years...you cant even enjoy touring in the UK because of the bloody traffic...nah..its all over the channel as far as im concerned... If anyones interested in a blast down to Italy this summer, let me know.

145mph in a 70 - got an ASBO, no points, no fine. The oldest asbo in Surrey!:biggrin: 130mph in a 50 - got a telling off. Not sure the cop was actually a cop (sounds odd but you had to be there). 100+ in a 40 - did a runner...no points!
