  1. He is as sensational on the track as he isnt off it.

  2. Who gives a shit? I watch motorcycle racing to watch ...err ... motorcycle racing! It's a shame that you guys just can't help yourself and have to say something to denigrate him. I think it says more about you lot than him..

  4. When I think back about what he did for Ducati in 07, and then people have the nerve to publicly slate him on a Ducati forum because he's not a media whore or mr personality. It boils my piss.

He leaves the sport a truly remarkable rider with his priorities and dignity intact.

Good luck for the future Mr Stoner and thank you for the Master Class.

  5. There are some very good points here. I for one am not a Stoner fan when it comes to his press conferences, but his on track ability is not in doubt. A brilliant rider, who can make a bike do things that most people can't understand or comprehend. I'm sorry to see him leave the paddock as it lessens the championship IMO. I also wish him and his family well for the future, and can understand his reasons for leaving. If he had been a bit more media savvy he would have attracted even more supporters, but I guess at least he has been true to himself. Good luck Casey.

  6. Cheers
Freak I enjoyed that, interesting that Rossi is upset even now about Stoner's Ambition quote.

  7. to be fair, Rossi should be embarrassed about that line...its almost as false and fluffed up as this one:

Golden Globes 2011 - Ricky Gervais Introduces Bruce Willis - YouTube

you can see the self-humiliation on willis' face at the end...lovely.

    back to stoner..
has anyone else noticed that he always says 'we' when its totally out of context...sure he's a team player, but he comes out with stuff like...'the tires started going off but we thought that we could just control the slides', 'we broke our ankle' etc..strange.
Anyway, yep...motogp will be less of a place without him thats for sure..i sincerely hope Vale can get to grips with the Yam and bring back some much needed thrills to the series and finish his swan song as world champ, whereupon the Ducati wilderness years will be but an unfortunate footnote.

  8. Ive just sat and watched that from start to finish on the iPad, I couldn't put it down.

thanks very much for that, it's nice to just see how genuine he is, no bullshit, no nothing, just somebody who wants to race and win.

    what a rider

  9. Very good

  10. Have to say I thought the same, very rehearsed, sounded like he'd been waiting for ages and the presence of the press...

  11. Whatever is to be said, 1 thing will last : He gave Ducati a worldtitle! not much happened afterwards..
I think Jorge's respect says much more than anything else..

  12. Maybe he just needs his competition to hate him, mind games and all that

  13. I have the utmost respect for anyone who can even ride a bike at the top level, let alone achieve podiums, or win races. These guys are all incredibly talented, brave and to some extent, nutters!!!

In many sports, fans choose their teams, brands, individuals to support, and in some sports, loyalty is inherited(or indoctrinated!) through generations. Both are what they are.

We are all motorcyclists, love riding and to some extent or other will enjoy watching (or if we are really lucky, participating) in racing.

Let's all acknowledgment the skill, expertise and grace of all riders, even Stoner, even though he is a gobby twat!

Cant understand why you blokes dont like him , he's a breth of fresh air in a world full of toe the liners.

  15. Twitter is like being in a school playground:

    "Oh yes you did."
    "Never did"
"I'll get my dad on to you"
    "Nyah nyaa nya-nya nyaah!"

I have no idea why anyone has anything to do with it. What you say will only bite you in the bum.
Most people on Twatter are just losing a good opportunity to keep their mouths shut.
