Hyper 1100 Headlight Bulb

  1. Morning all.....

Its about time I replaced the candle that is inside my Hyper 1100 headlight housing

Does anyone have any recommendations ?

I've noticed that most 'car' bulbs are cheaper, are the reasons I've read not to fit them a load of old wives tales ( too much vibration in a bike, the glass/reflector can't handle it) or do they hold true ?

    Cheers boys and girls

  2. Fitted one of those daylight bulb thingy's....kind of a half way house between a full hid and a normal bulb....not too bad but I did replace the running lights with led ones which are much brighter....they only just fit in the holes but really good - I think they cost about 6 quid each...

I have actually got a full blown hid for it with the ballast but not fitted it yet...I have to hack the back of the bulb cover out to get it in there which I don't mind too much as its just a bit of plastic but kinda stop short as the existing unit is quite a tidy setup...

  3. I was thinking of a HID kit but couldn't find many people who had done it.....

Where did you get your running lights from ?

    Cheers

  4. ive done the Hid conversion on my rsv4 (all 3 lights) and it really is good (needs a little adjustment though) the only thing is the centre light (the full beam) when initially flicked on takes a little time to warm up. Ive rewired the switch so when the full is fired up the dips stay on....

These are the sidelights I bought....you might have to shave a bit off the edge to get them in and they do touch the front of the headlight (but they do just fit)

I think ill probably do the hid conversion to the hyper. But when my zed is back on the road so ive got my daily ride available again...its currently in pieces having a samco hose kit manufactured for it...samco want the hoses to build tooling against so its off the road for a couple of month...but on the plus side I get a free set of hoses and stainless clips from samco for the time off the road...

  7. I look forward to it

  8. In all fairness on my last hyper I had a go at it and couldn't get the hid to fire...I kinda had it all laid out along the top of the bike, kinda gave up and didn't revisit it....however my mate at work is an electrical engineer and we were talking about it last week so he said he'd come over and take a look...
